I bought these after a very disappointingly early failure of a set of d'Addario EJ45 strings. I found the Augustines quick to bed in, quicker than the d'Addarios fitted to my Alhambra 5P, and the tone is superb. The improvement on a relatively cheap 1980s Kimbara is quite significant. The price of these strings is very reasonable, but I had them on my wish list and when they dropped to half price (£3) I bought them. The guitar strings arrived promptly despite being expected much longer. I have been using them for some time now (around three weeks) and play every day. They play almost as well as when the guitar was first strung with them. There is some sign of wear and tear on the high E string, however. Although, I’m unsure if this particular string is faulty. This hasn’t affected the produced sound luckily. Would recommend buying these if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative to more expensive strings. They suit anyone who treats classical guitar as a hobby, not a profession.

The product was fine and was as advertised. The issue we had was with the man who delivered the product. He didn't ring the doorbell or knocked. We only knew the parcel had been delivered as my husband heard the letterbox rattle as he put the slip through it. The parcel was then left with our neighbour as the man was so swift to deliver it, he didn't do the job properly.

Always felt that the “G” string on the make I used was slightly dull. This is not the case with these Augustine strings. Only been on my guitar for a month but still good. I only expect my strings to last three months before I re-string. So looking good so far.

I was a bit concerned as the strings were not in the individual blue sleeves so I wrote to Augustine who responded as follows."The strings you received are authentic. We discontinued coloring the ends in 2005 for two reasons, first, the process added no sonic advantage and added to cost, second, the coloring process required the strings to be exposed to air longer which the coloring dyes dried. This increased the strings' exposure to air with accelerates tarnishing.In 2010 we began producing all Blue, Red, Black, Gold, Regal/Blue, and Imperial/Red sets in the new packaging you received. The reduces the number of packaging pieces from 14 to 5, significantly reducing waste and dramatically cutting down on the plastic we use. With the three envelopes, however, you still have the opportunity to save strings if you do not change them all at once. We also use paper that is a blend of FSC renewable eucalyptus pulp and post-consumer recycled paper. We know of no other string manufacturer who does this. "Good service from the supplier.

Actually bought these for a guitalele. Whilst I would question why they rely on the recommendation of someone who has been dead for almost 30 years, I do have agree with Andrés Segovia that they do sound beautiful. Strings are a very personal preference/choice but I would happily recommend Augustine. I use them on my guitar but took a bit a of punt and tried these "Red" ones on my Yamaha GL1, so far all sounds very good

I really thought that by stepping up to a mid range set of classical strings with recomendation from Segoviawould improve the yone on my guitar. WRONG. high E snapped before in tune whilst fitting.D string was so short it would not reach the machine head. very dissapointed with a highly rated product at twice the price of my usual cheapies. Sold the guitar only after fitting another set of cheap strings, sounded great.

Excellent strings that last well and play very well due to their lower tension. Always use them. Prompt delivery from a reliable supplier.

After trying a lot of other strings, a friend who plays professionally recommended these strings to me. I tried them. I've used them ever since, for decades. This set of strings includes regular tension trebles and light tension basses. They sound wonderful, with brilliant, clear tone throughout the set. I've played classical guitar for over 50 years. These are the best strings I have ever played.

Ich bin Anfänger, meine alten Saiten waren platt, daher habe ich mich für diese entschieden.Hab dann selbst die neuen Seiten aufgezogen und bin sehr zufrieden.Am Anfang musste ich häufig nachstimmen, was aber nach einigen Tagen nicht mehr vorkam.Der "blecherne" Klang von den frischen Seiten verschwand ebenfalls nach etwa einer Woche.
