It's not capable of full power.
Bought this alongside a couple other lamps of a different brand. Plugged it in alongside the other lamps and this one is red instead of the whitish daylight spectrum the other lamps have. Took it to my buddy who knows electronics and after a couple days he told me the ballast can only handle two thirds of the wattage it's supposed to run because of shoddy construction and cheap parts. He also told me my ballast might pose a fire risk due to some of the wires being uninsulated fully and if they managed to touch each other. Don't buy this.

Only Way To Run CMH
Excellent investment. CMH works better with glass barrier, which is not available with factory CMH hoods.

Screw in the outlet to an existing GPS fixture and its good to go. I wish It was dimmable, but this has been a great conversion kit so far.

A great value in CMH growing!
Just completed my first cycle with this ballast and I couldn't ask for better results. If you are looking for a reasonably priced entry into CMH I highly recommend this ballast kit. Works with any hood with fantastic results.
