I tired connecting this to my computer multiple times, yet my computer never recognized the device as being plugged in. I finally got frustrated and removed the plastic end cap that the cord plugs into to look inside. I literally found NOTHING. There is a port to plug into, but nothing there inside to actually connect to. That red outside case? Completely hollow and empty! What I received was a hollow metal case with some plastic end caps and a cord port. Not even heavy enough to use as a paper weight! I threw it away out of frustration and only later realized that I should've taken pictures or tried to contact the seller for a refund. But at the very least, I wanted to post my review to let you know that this was a total and utter waste of money. I am shocked! I never expected this purchasing though Amazon.

Great size and very portable

I just now saw the (not the external hard drive) smh this is just a case for hard drive itself (just a box) someone else said was very misleading and it was but like I said I just now saw that it said BOX! So this is just a box to store the hard drive. Buyer beware READ carefully for the full description. Will be returning this ASAP!

The unit I received did not work as described in the manual that came with the hardware. I even looked for a computer technician to test it on other equipment, as it was impossible to install and use it on the ones I own.
