High quality Espressif ESP32 Devkit. Well worth it.
Excellent microcontrollers from Espressif. High quality build, and their web site has all the documentation for their specific versions, plus thereโs a lot of people using them with good information and tips. My solar powered data logger is running great, and the WiFi has remarkably good range even without the external antenna. For me itโs worth a couple of extra bucks for a solid, high quality Espressif board.

Easy to build offgrid solutions for companies on a budget
Been using higher end ESP-32 for a long time then migrated to N8 for offgrid navigation that doesn't rely upon GPS chips. Decent enough to run a calibration system on its own at startup and the functions provide the ability for a client to use either BT or wifi for syncing maps to it. Great value for the money as the ease of use is better than more expensive loading a complicated OS. In a corp project in Romania and Poland, we use eMMC for OpenMaps for their custom logistics solutions. Overall great connectivity of two USB-C ports so you can add functions for expansion in a project needs.

This is the "standard"
This is the real deal. It is an Espresif dev board, the standard one. The reference design. There are smaller ones, cheaper ones, and boards with LCD screens attached but this is the normal standard dev board

Don't lose the jumper
Very reliable device. Make sure you don't lose the jumper. It wasn't on the board when I opened the package, I couldn't find it anywhere, not knowing it was even in the box. I tried for over an hour to flash the device but I could not because the jumper was missing. I was packing it up to return and out fell the jumper from the box. I put it on and bam, flash successful.

Perfect for projects
I'm currently using this for a DIY smart thermostat project. This unit is complete overkill for it currently but it allows me the headroom to add tons of features in the future. It works perfectly so far and I plan to buy many more in the future for additional projects that I can dream up.
