Good part. Just realize that if you don’t have a shortened hammer, like a skeleton hammer, you’ll either have to grind your hammer to fit into the groove of the beaver tail, or you’ll need to swap out the hammer as well.

I installed this on my circa 1970 aluminum framed Colt Combat Commander with satin nickel finish. I carry this concealed cocked and locked and have been concerned with the exposed bobbed hammer. As expected from reading many of the reviews, I had to file down the safety to get the fit just right, but 30 minutes of filing and fitting got the job done. The stainless steel looks great with the satin nickel frame and slide and nicely fits around the bobbed hammer. I also installed a Hogue flat mainspring housing at the same time since I had to disassemble. The black checkering of the Hogue housing nicely complements the black checkering of my Crimson Trace laser grip, fits my palm better and reduces the pistol profile in my CC rig. Dry fire ops check indicates that everything appears to function as required, now to the range to verify.

Well made and looks nice, unfortunately I didn't read the fine print and this one is for a uncut frame and all mine are radiused at .250. That would leave a huge gap around it so this will be handed off to someone who needs it.

Is not a drop in for my Springfield milspec 1911 A1Not a drop in part for my Springfield mil-spec 1911 A1. A little disappointed. But at least I have an excuse to buy some new tools.

I installed this on my RIA 1911A1 with relative ease. it is a direct drop-in, and no gunsmithing was required. I also installed A Wilson Combat Skeletonized hammer that matched (337S). It fit in the gun very well and functioned flawlessly. I don't know if the setup would work without both components. A stock hammer might not fully cock with the highride beavertail safety. I'm extremely pleased with this part, and would recommend it to anyone with a RIA 1911A1

Very nice well built. Dropped right into my rock island 1911. Easy to install. The only issue I had was the stock hammer on my 1911 was too long and would hit the new beaver tail. The new beaver tail sits just a little bit higher than the old one did. I had to buy another hammer. After I put the new hammer onto my gun everything worked perfectly.
