Does not work with high water pressure
Water pressure from hose does not allow for shut off. Maybe if the water pressure is extremely low, but otherwise, it won't work.

A ton of Teflon tape required
The thread on the top of the unit is a straight thread and requires many, many wraps of Teflon to seal. This unit has now been in operation for months in my pond and works very well. Extremely simple auto fill system.
