Most valuable tool in my arsenal!
I had hip replacement surgery in April. I had scheduled it in January so had plenty of time to prepare. My doctor told me to pay attention to the tasks I do that require me to bend 90 degrees or more and find alternative ways to do them. So I went on Amazon and found several helpful tools. I even started using them before surgery as my hip was deteriorating fast. I had skipped over this tool at first because I had already bought a sock removal tool. Well, that sock removal tool caused me to bend over 90 degrees so I bought this one just before surgery. I have to say, I use this tool the most of any of them!I use it not only to take my socks off, but to adjust them once they are on too. I use them to take my shoes off because I am not supposed to cross my feet because that puts strain on my new hip. I use it to push and pull my walker and hospital table away from and beside my bed. I use it to pull covers over me in bed and push them off my feet when I get out. I just recently was able to get my hip-high TED hose on by myself because of this tool! I wasn't able to do it with just my sock tool. This tool is so very versatile. I use it all the time. It's also very durable. I've put it in some tough situations and it hasn't bent or cracked. I highly recommend this tool if you are having any kind of surgery that involves a limb. It is a must have!Update: I am now using this tool in my kitchen to open and close bottom drawers and my dishwasher. My reach tool isn't strong enough for these tasks. I ordered another one to have handy in the kitchen. I use it to tip my Amazon packages on end when they are dropped off on my porch. This allows me to pick them up without bending too far. I seem to find more and more uses for this every day!

Excellent product! A must have for the disabled person.
If you have or know of a disabled person this is the thing to get them. I use this for everything!I put on my underwear, socks, pull things closer to me, shut doors, lights, and so on.I use this more often than any item I have purchased. If you get it though it comes with a little rubber cap. I didn’t realize you could put it on the end of the hook and I pitched it.

Portable To Take Anywhere
I’m so pleased with my purchase. A person who is unable to bend over completely to pick up or move an object, this stick comes in very handy, and I don’t need to worry about falling over trying to move or pick up an item.I really like how portable this is also. It pulls apart for ease while traveling or going anywhere. The price is great too

Works as Dressing Stick
Works as a dressing stick as intended. Be aware of splintering wood, though! It comes in 2 pieces, and you have to attach them together.

I keep finding new uses.
Versatile tool. Shirt, move to reach armhole. Shoes, shoehorn. Pick up, the end can lift a shoe or sock. The cuphook end can adjust socks for more room in the toe. Maneuver underwear so toe can enter the leg hole. Lift underware waistband to reachable height. The hook has a rubbery coating which makes it more useable. I probably use it ten or more times a day. One caution: the hook on the side can be broken off. I tried to remove compression socks and broke it. I immediately bought a replacement.

metal seam cover unnecessary
great, but the dowel is unnecessarily wide and there is no reason for the metal seam cover other than to lose it if you are a traveler.

Buyer beware that this is a 2 piece dressing stick that screws loose very easily while being used.
This is a two piece dressing stick that has to be screwed together. It gets loose very easily while being used. I had to glue mine together with Gorilla Clear Grip contact adhesive. So far so good. If it gets loose again I'll shop for a one piece dressing stick instead of a two piece.
