Calypso - Smart Water Heater Controller RM3500ZB - Zigbee (Hub required)

Calypso installed in 20 minutes, and linked to the Zigbee hub first try. Set up the hub first, press the link button, and take your tablet or phone with you to the Calypso and start the link there. Will connect in under 30 seconds. Neviweb software is all you need if you don’t have a connected home.

Très simple à installer et matche super bien. Connecté à mon instance home assistant via la passerelle zigbee et je peux contrôler et programmer facilement.

When replacing my electric water heater I decide to add some controls and leak detection. As a technical person I find Home Assistant can be challenging at times but totally necessary to keep things local and for the variety of home automation devices I own and design/make. Integrating this controller wasn't too bad, but I had been avoiding Zigbee devices until now, and had to purchase a USB Zigbee radio (instead of using the Sinope hub). Thankfully someone made a HA integration already and mostly all features work. The only thing I haven't been able to figure out is how to disable the legionaires cycle (it will turn back on if the temp is less than 35 C or so). I want to turn it off completely when I'm away on vacation.I think the radio in this device is Thread compatible so hopefully they will update the firmware one day and we won't have to worry about having to using zigbee and random integrations. It would be nice if Sinope would directly support HA. Also the WiFi version uses proprietary protocols and you have to use their hub to integrate it with HA, then you don't have local control.Also removing 1 star for the leak detection cable being $90 CAN extra. Although it's not quite the same thing, I used a 1/8" male to 1/8" male cable from an old set of PC speakers and mounted the end on the bottom of my tank basin. As long as water touches the conductors on the end of the cable I can see the leak status.I also just drilled a 1/2" hole in the cover to my tanks power connection and mounted it there, plenty of room! I don't see why this wouldn't be acceptable to the electric code but I'm not an electrician.

Facile d’installation et fonctionnement compatible avec hilo

Le boîtier est un peu trop petit. Il y a un autre modèle plus facile à installer et plus sécuritaire. De plus l’installation du programme et de faire le mariage du système m’a pris 1h. Je ne le recommande pas.
