I spent 4 decades in industrial construction and now I play with tools in my home shop. We always used the name brand tools in the field and shop but I needed a chain vise at home for making fence post extensions. I needed something to hold my post sections while I expanded them to make slip joints. I rednecked up a mount for the vise and did about 30 extensions using the most powerful 1/2" impact I could find. I ended up destroying the thrust bearing in my expander but the vise never hiccuped. I just got the top portion of this pipe vice. It's been working great the month I've had it. I'm a Pipe Fitter so I've been using this several times a day to hold me pipe while I prefab my traps and 90's. No concerns or negatives. I did mount this onto my packout tabel so it mobile with me anywhere i go on site.
