Perfect functioning, SPD forever. I run my pedals about one click off the loosest setting, and they’re as good as I’ve ever had them. I hardly ever blow out of the pedals and I’m riding pretty rugged technical trails. Easy to install, good fit, good value.

The good stuff.
Lots of bike weenies think it’s cool to bash Shimano, but they actually invent most of what’s on modern bikes and their quality is usually top-notch.These work perfectly, plain and simple.

Solid!
My M540 pedals came with a pair but I needed an extra set for my other shoes. My M540s are the first pedals I’ve clipped into and I definitely can tell a difference in my riding. They have some float but riding on both pairs of shoes it really depends on the soles. My FiveTens have much more float than my Sidi, same cleats. Still very solid feeling. Be sure not to walk with them especially on concrete.

Durability
Worth getting the brand name and not the knock off. Durability is so much better.

Great cleat
These have a much more positive retention, engagement and release than the SH56. I ride both Shimano and Crank Brothers pedals and I prefer these. If you are new to clipless and a bit apprehensive in riding clipless the SH56 will be a good choice.

Work fine
Function as advertised. Stable. Easy to install. They do seem to wear quickly so buy a back up set.
