Don’t Bother as These Leica’s Are NOT User Friendly
I’ve been using binoculars for decades and always wanted a pair of Leica’s so ordered a pairI was so excited about receiving themHowever they are not fit for purposeOk so they are very compact but they are also an absolute nightmare to actually useIt might be because the objective lens is only 20mm….. But all I saw was the ‘tunnel effect’ ie. I never managed to see a single image. I only saw the sides of the tubes. I don’t wear glasses and had the eyepieces fully extendedI tried many many times to get on with them but I just couldn’t make them work properlyI guess if you really need the very compact size of these binoculars then that’s ok but if, like me, you just want a good and easy to use binocular then these Leica’s will not work for youI honestly don’t know why people rave about these Leica’sI have now purchased a pair of Viking Merlin 8x32 binoculars and they are simply incredibleI wasn’t worried about the price of the Leica’s, fortunately, but for what its worth the Vikings were about half the price of the Leica’sHonestly the Viking Merlin is 200% better than the Leica’s. They are a complete bargain for the optical quality and ease of usePlease really check whether you REALLY need such a small binocular before purchasing these Leica’s as they are very much an acquired tasteThey are definitely not for me but the Viking Merlin 8x32 is an amazing binocularFor what it’s worth the Viking Merlin was about half the price of the Ultravid’s but they perform soo much better than the Leica’sPlease think very carefully before you splash out £500 for these Leica binocularsI have been around binoculars for years and these are, in my opinion, the worst I’ve ever used
