I love to laugh and finding a sweet, funny regency romance was a pleasant surprise!
I’ve now read all books in this charming trilogy and laughed my way through them. Though this is only the 2nd book, I read the third book first, then read the first book and realized I’d read it a few years ago. I loved the characters so much! All of them are witty, wry and gently sarcastic. Very entertaining and absolutely satisfying. I highly recommend. Enjoy the laughs!

Love in the Countryside
Such a sweet love story! Isabelle gets her wish to leave the London scene behind, but intrigues, secrets, and a dash of hilarity make up country days. Dreams and true love becomes reality all while the sideline games are at play. Great sequel!

A Handsome War Hero and How He Learned to Trust Again
This is a story with strong characters and beautiful settings. A gentleman back from the wars with Napoleon returns to Britain having survived physically but who is haunted by things seen and done. He finds temporary work as a Land Agent on an estate owned by a generous Earl. Healing comes slowly. He finds he has new concerns that keep him awake as he befriends a young woman (the Earl’s sister-in-law). Of course there are disreputable characters to cause trouble and spread rumor. This is a delightful story that is easily read but hard to put down.

So, so fun to read.
I loved the book's reviews, After reading book one I instantly bought book 2, and now am wondering why I can't find book 3. It's only 3.30 a.m. so there's plenty of time to get started. There are some of the usual misunderstandings but they don't drag on thru the whole book. I liked that the main characters were honorable and intelligent and interesting. And accomplished and active. And romantic! Read these in order. So fun!

Good. Clean. A Little Rushed At Times.
This sequel was an easy, clean read. A few of the characters were already familiar since I had read the first book. So, I felt like I already "knew" them and their humor/sarcasm/witticism. The plot was fine. At times, the story/scene seemed a little rushed. Also, there were some scenes that caused me to disconnect from the story because the writing almost told me what was happening and what the character was experiencing in such a way that I didn't feel like I was in that character's "shoes." It is hard to explain, but it happened a few times in the book, and I wish it hadn't. Other than that, the story was good.

Surprisingly good
Never heard of this book or author before but they showed up in my recommendations and I gave them a try. It was a quick, satisfying read... some good repartee, well developed characters, and enough twists and turns at a good pace. Now I have to go back and read the first book in the series. Recommended.

A good, clean romance
This was a good, clean, romance, but it was really slow. It was worth finishing, but I had to read several books in between tries to finish it.

I loved this book❣️
I laughed out loud reading this book so many times. I love this author. I have loved the 2 of her books I have read. I love the humor in a romance book.

The Second Son
Oliver was very talented and not afraid of work. He realized it was important to advance his knowledge of being in charge of of an estate. He served in the armed forces and was able to finish his commission. This allowed him to find work and experience. His success showed courage and a willingness to persevere.

Una lettera piacevole
Ho apprezzato di più il primo libro, questo mancava di un po' di carattere, tuttavia la caratterizzazione di alcuni personaggi, specialmente Adrian, ha reso il libro una lettura piacevole.

The Mysterious Mr Oliver
This book is a excellent period drama. The Characters are interesting, and individually have dept of character. There is pithy humour, romance, and twists and turns in the storyline. There will be times when you will want to laugh aloud and others when it looks that all is lost.Happy to recommend this Author. Read the first book as well as it too , is a great read.

Witty and charming, a lovely addition to the genre.
I rarely review books because Book 2 often disappoints after Book 1. Emma Melbourne shines with her second (sisters) book as she did with her first, imbuing it with charm, individuality, joy, and unexpected wit that caught me laughing out loud as often as did the first. I’m waiting for Book 3 with trepidation, bated breath, and fingers crossed, because some of the possible characters I’ve already been introduced to! Ms Melbourne is a delightful addition to the Regency Romance genre and can only get better at her craft with the confidence of success! Thank you, Emma!
