Replaced a dead unit with this product. Installation was simple with the enclosed template and instructions and it works fine. It's an attractive unit without any brand marking and seems to work good. It does hum louder than the Samsung unit it replaced while cooking. Doesn't have all the features and sensors of some more expensive OTR microwaves, but I don't use those anyway. The door handle appears very sturdy, which is usually the first thing to break, so I'm optimistic it will last a good while.

A great price for a solidly built and sleek microwave. It has none of the bells & whistles of the $500 models that Consumer Reports recommends, but do you really need wi-fi control for a microwave? Controls are easy to understand and does the job of defrosting or popping corn or baking potatoes well. It is very quiet. My only criticism is that the interior and hood lights could be brighter.

Had to replace the microwave that came to the RV, which was a confection oven microwave order this one sit right in the place below cabinet above Stove didn’t have to make any adjustments on the brackets didn’t have to make adjustments because the factory forgot it cut in a exhaust fan hole in the cabinet, so it can breathe. The old unit didn’t have one. The new unit has a new tablet there.

This Midea 1.7 microwave does not have all the bells and whistles others have. The keypad has the basic presets, but does have the very important 30 sec. feature and the turntable off. The keypad numbers are easy to use due to the open layout and the absence of mega preset functions. Don't expect much light for the range-bulb puts out the equivalent (See Picture) of a night light. My units transformer for the magnetron hums so the unit is not super quiet. The Midea microwaves are all noted for excellent even heating. I have also installed the newer Midea 1.9 OTR model MMO19S3AST and for $60 more will run circles around this model and many of the other manufacturers higher priced models. So quiet, great LED stove light, better features, the only complaint is the the end of cycle BEEP is barely audible no matter what you set the loudness for. I know many people have never heard of Midea but it is the one of largest producers of OEM brand products in the world, so instead of the other brand names you have always loved, they are now marketing under their name. I will probably keep the 1.7 for a year and upgrade to the 1.9. They have the same mounting bracket and are interchangeable.

Microwave was easy to install after I found the mounting bracket on the back of the unit. It is not mentioned in the list of parts. Jut suddenly appears in the pictures of the installation. The bracket is only slightly different from my old one, but the overhead holes are in a different place. Looks very nice with the stainless and I like the big door handle.

So, I purchased this Microwave almost 2 years ago. It was the noisiest microwave I’ve ever used. I did not return it because it seemed to work fine other than the strange noises and figured that the hassle of pulling it out and returning seemed too much. I just learned a lesson the hard way. The range light underneath went out. I figured that it would be easily replaced. I was wrong. If you have this DO NOT attempt to replace the bulb on your own! Even after making sure the control was “off”… I got the worst shock in my life! I attempted to unscrew the bulb and it shattered in my hand. I got cut by the glass. It was then that I realized that the bulb is actually part of a larger piece held in place by a screw that is inaccessible from the open side. When I tried to bend down the flange so that I could access the screw I got zapped! It was enough current to blow out a chunk of the pliers I was using and it felt as though I just got hit by a taser and it knocked me to the ground. Worst and most dangerous piece of engineering I’ve ever seen!!!! I am in no way a novice at repairing electrical equipment. I service tube guitar amplifiers that can be lethal for a living. I can’t begin to describe the anger I have towards the manufacturer of this piece of junk! Not even worthy of the single star on this review.
