Good little machine
Easy to use. Cleans ok. Brushes provided are good. Not too loud. Good for small areas otherwise you’d be forever refilling the tank. It could do with a slightly longer pipe as it’s awkward to stand it on the floor and reach the back of the sofa. A bit too heavy to hold whilst doing it too.

Capable little machine
Vax have been around for as long as I can remember and have always performed well although somewhat bulky. The new spot wash max is very capable and handy for the home. For me this is a trade off between a full size unit and storage space as we have a relatively small house I figured I could use this as general carpet cleaner plus spot wash (ok so it will take much longer but I’m not in a rush!) it’s perfect for the stairs and ideal for cleaning a mattress when changing the sheets. The instructions could be a little better when it comes to the hose clean function it wasn’t clear and I had the handle upside down initially (it goes in with the little notch facing upwards) other than that o would say I was disappointed with the lack of accessory storage as the machine is only designed to store the crevice tool and one cleaning nozzle onboard leaving the other wide nozzle, pet tool and wide tool brush attachment in a pile next to it (perhaps a netted sack to keep it all together would be in order, I’ve used a little laundry bag myself)It’s important to remember that it’s not going to shift a dried in well established stain so if your thinking of getting one to get rid of that curry stain on the carpet from last year then forget it! That aside it does do a good job of cleaning if you put the elbow grease in. I tried it on a section of carpet in the kitchen doorway that gets a bit mucky at times and whilst it didn’t remove the old stains it did do a surprisingly good job of cleaning the carpet lifting some old marks I wasn’t expecting.I did find the trigger sticky that dispenses the cleaning fluid but it worked loose over time. When you get the angle right it pulls up most the water leaving the carpet damp -it’s not wet but it’s not touch dry so to speak. Due to the clear nozzle cover you can see the liquid being picked up so it’s easy to get the right angle. I found it best to dispense the fluid over an area then turn off the vac and work it in using the brush head before turning it back on and clean in straight rearward pulls getting as much liquid out as I can.Considering its size the noise isn’t that bad although the exhaust can be a bit warm.Get it when on offer and it will repay you tenfold -just don’t let the neighbours see!

It's a powerful little cleaner and handy to have around
This little vax is powerful stuff, it really works on small or larger areas. It takes a bit of elbow grease but it's a good little cleaner, and I decided to spread the payments on Amazon which I didn't know was possible. Once the option came up I had to go for it to see how it works, and I've got a couple of months payment left. No extra interest charged. I know it works on some stains such as tea, battery, etc but so far no success in removing dried in hair dye stains.I bought it when I saw my son measuring up a section of carpet to cut ✂️ out on the floor. He said it was too stained and he wanted to replace it and I thought 😱😱 so I suggested a carpet cleaner. Before using it for the first time, I also bought a Rug Doctor Heavy Stain Pre Treatment, squirt that on the stains for 10 mins then fill the Vax spotwash cleaner with the required amount of water and solution and even myself was surprised at how clean it got those stains out, including black ink stains - pen and marker, food and drinks stains and all sorts of gunge he had in his room. I was so happy when I saw the result, it was easy to use and I knew I got my money's worth. It's a handy little cleaner to have, especially if you only want to clean small areas only. For a whole room I'd just hire a carpet cleaner for a few hours, but this is handy to have around the house, especially if one of your kids threaten to cut out a piece of your carpet and underlay. Don't let them do it, buy this instead. It wasn't very heavy to move around the house, and I used it upstairs and down. I bought the large tank product without the pet tools for £149.Key points of note:-: easy to use, not too heavy and portable with carry handle: remove tough stains such as tea, ink etc: the hose has powerful suction for getting into those stains: it's good value for money: spread the payments with no interest charge: larger tank cuts time spend filling at the tap: for heavy stains, first treat with a heavy stain pre treatment first, squirt directly on the stain, leave on for 10-15 mins: can be used on sofas to remove greaseIt comes with a handy little storage base for the hose and storage grips at the back for the cable.I'm still exploring what this handy little cleaner can do, but so far I'm not disappointed. I cannot fault it, it packs a punch!
