Must read for managers who want to be leaders
Personally I find most coaching books to be either extremely tactical and prescriptive, or too generic and thus not very useful. I had heard of the GROW model but I had no actual idea how to use it in a non-simplistic way and in this book I found just that- with lots of credible "role play" type scenarios in a company setting which is what I need it for.The was recommended by a mentor of mine who happens to be mentioned in the book itself as she worked with the author to roll out large scale coaching in the company, and I am glad I did heed the advice; it's inspired me not just to be more "coach- like" in my day to day team interactions, when the situation requires it of course, but to really see the possibilities when this becomes the prevalent culture in a company. I am buying it as a Christmas present for people in my team for sure!

The coaching “bible”!
I have used previous editions of this book in my work as a management skills trainer and coach.(I worked in the same organisation as the publisher over twenty five years ago).It is the ‘go-to’ book on coaching. While it could be read cover to cover, I found that after the initial read through it was a very useful book to dip into when a coaching session was scheduled. This edition has subtle updates due to the after effects of the pandemic. The world of work has changed and coaching methods need to evolve to remain pertinent .Whether you are a new coach or a more experienced one, I would thoroughly recommend that this book is on your bookshelf.

The leading book on coaching for performance -
This is a reworked version of the global success book originally written back in 1992. It has been carefully extended and improved by Tiffany Gaskell following John Whitmore's passing. It is still the go to source for all things coaching - be it for leaders wanting to apply a coaching leadership style, or for coaches helping leaders to successfully motivate and elevate their businesses. As Whitmore put it: "Coaching unlocks a person’s potential to maximize their performance, helping them to learn rather than teaching them."Coaching focuses on future possibilities, not past mistakes.Highly recommended.

Brick or book?
Good book but the worst layout you can imagine - huge, with very wide impractical margins, extremely challenging to hold comfortably and therefore enjoy. Designed by a man for a man?
