Always connect 6 Ghz for fastest speed.
Was able to setup the modem without any issues. However for someone who is not tech savvy the setup may not be easy. Also the modem configuration has a option "Split Mode" which splits all the frequencies. This is super important feature as I was migrating from an older modem. So someone who is not tech savvy might have difficulties. The phone app is average and is not that useful. However once setup I am very happy with the speed, which is why I bought the modem. A important thing to notice when I selected the 6 Ghz frequency that is when I got the fastest download speed on speedtest. For 5 Ghz and 2.4 Ghz the speeds were slower. 5 Ghz speed was around 450 Mbps and for 2.4 Ghz it was around 300 Mbps. So to get the fastest speed device must be connected to 6 Ghz channel. I might need to add an booster as 6 Ghz signal is weak, but it gives the desired speed.

Worked incredibly well until it didn’t (3 weeks)
This thing costs some serious money so I figured the other reviews regarding longevity were overblown. Nope. This thing stopped working after 3 weeks. I had high hopes because it worked incredibly well when I first set it up. No issues with creating a secure and a guest network or getting those annoying 2.4GHz-only iot devices connected But 3 weeks in, the WiFi module just… stopped working The radio still works, and I can connect to the router itself to manage admin options. But it no longer talks to the modem. If I plug in to the device I can get online. But WiFi only allows a connection to the WiFi network. It won’t even pass through to ping another device that’s hard wired into the router. Just forget this thing. Move on. Get something better. This is a giant waste of $450

Solid connection
The previous three modems we've owned have been made by Arris, and very solid and reliable. So my expectations for the G54 were very high, especially considering that the cost is one of the most expensive on the market for a combo modem wifi router. It is very easy to hook up, with a power cord, incoming comm cable, and then whatever you decide to add for direct connections. The automation within this hardware is the most advanced that we've experienced. This will auto reset, and do a number of different steps (many which are beyond my comprehension) to ensure the connection is solid and to maintain accessibility. In testing the other wifi signals in our area, there is no interference or competing signals at the WiFi 7 range. Even for the lower ranges, the G54 is excellent about placing our signal in low use channel. All that to say, I've enjoyed this device for the last several months, and now feel like it was worth the cost since we've had excellent coverage ever since the initial connection was established (and sorted out with our provider).

Excellent product and easy to install by following instructions in the apps
Installation using the Xfinity app was easy. I was then able to use the Arris app to make changes as needed. My internet speed tripled.

Quality Build, Disappointing Performance
As someone with a background in STEM and experience in setting up networks, I found the Arris G54 router to have solid build quality, reminiscent of my previous Arris model. However, it has significant drawbacks. It only reaches 450 Mbps, whereas my old model managed 700+ Mbps. While it connected easily with Xfinity, it struggled with other devices like Apple TVs, a smart thermostat, and a Sonos sound system. Consequently, I couldn't verify the signal strength due to the poor connectivity. Overall, the Arris G54 falls short for homes with multiple smart devices.

Excellent cable modem, middle-of-the-road wifi performance
I purchased the G54 in the hope of replacing a standalone Asus wifi router and an Arris S33. Here's what you won't find in other reviews: 1. Band steering is enabled by default and works poorly. 6ghz clients will not be band steered properly with WPA2/WPA3 transitional enabled and is a manufacturer known opportunity for improvement. If you have any Wifi 6e clients, you'll want to disable band steering and disable the single SSID. It's hard to find how to do this in the UI. Look for 'Split mode'. 2. The cable modem section is fantastic. It's similar to an S33 in performance. Theoretically, it should support high split when Spectrum finishes their rollout. You will not be able to see your cable modem event log in the way that you do on the SB8200 or S33. All of the error logs are blank. 3. The Qualcomm wifi chipset underperforms similarly priced Broadcom models, including some of Arris' own older products. The 5ghz performance, even with 160mhz enabled, is lacking. "Dong Knows Tech" did an in-depth performance review on this product and my experiences match the benchmarks that he posted. Any modern day AP like a Netgear Nighthawk RAX80 or an Asus RT-AX86U will significantly outperform this product on 5ghz. This is unfortunate. 4. The product is physically large, but very attractive. Arris' all-in-one cable modem/router designs are strikingly good. It's unfortunate that the design outperforms the product itself. I will continue to purchase and critically evaluate Arris products in the future--its awesome to see a high-quality router manufacturer in Catawba County, NC, and hope they continue to evolve as time goes on.

Works great with Comcast’s internet service.
Works flawlessly, easy to setup, lightning fast connection, great for gaming and streaming, runs everything in my house without a glitch, has plenty of range for me in a fairly large house, and even gets my basement and a decent amount of my yard. I’m very surprised by how far the signal could reach before connecting my repeaters on each floor.
