IN FLIGHT

Here's a little rant for this book, then I'll get on with my normal review. I have, like everyone else, read a lot of Millionaire/Dom meets Virgin/Alpha Male/With a effed up past books lately, and this is positively my favourite thus far! Why? Because its funny, and angsty, and smexy, and charming, hot, steamy, and any other adverb you wanna throw in there. The Dom was everything (will go into detail later), the story wasn't giving you a documentary on the history of BDSM, and the erotica was different and well disbursed. I've read a lot of erotica lately that has too many erotic scenes or it has the same old spankin' then sexin' scenes. Boring. In Flight introduces a few different erotic components that make you feel warm all over.. um yeah.. that's what I'll go with "warm."Cover Love and WritingI love the cover, its sophisticated yet kinky. It pertains to the book content and the model could pass as the main character. The writing was awesome, and I absolutely loved the chapter headings!!! Each chapter was headed with the personality that Mr. Beautiful-Controlling-Possessive-Mercurial-Affectionate Cavendish was feeling for that chapter.Main CharacterI liked Bianca's character. I could understand her situation and liked the fact that though she was a virgin, she was not naive. She understood what James wanted from her and didn't play cat and mouse with him. I wish I could be as strong as her too... of course she had weak points, but she put on a facade and went on with her life.Swoonworthy Points: 9.5 (I would definitely have James' book babies!!!)As I said above, this book has several BDSM elements/scenes that I've yet to read about or don't usually read about... the wedge, the leather glove, and the wonderful eff-me swing! I'd like to take a spin in that! BUT In Flight also has several normal tender swoonworthy moments as well! Especially when James is being Mr. Affectionate and Mr. Tender-lover!Bonus Points +2I loved the touch of humor Lilley added in her writing.. the chapter headings and especially 'Project Hot Mess' had me in tears laughing. I also LOVE Stephan, Bianca's BFF! He was so sweet, protective, caring, and overall amazing. He would literally jump in front of a bullet for Bianca. I wish I had a friend like him!SummaryWhile on a Red-Eye to New York, Bianca had the pleasure of serving Mr. Cavendish in first class. He was beautiful, elegant, and a millionaire. She tried to maintain her stern facade and politely declined his request for lunch. She didn't date!But Fate (or meddling friends) brought James and Bianca together again for Karaoke night. She tries very hard to dissuade Mr. Cavendish's advances, but his dominant turquoise eyes draw her in. Bianca decides to give James what he want's. But the two are not prepared to deal with a relationship nor their pasts. Will they be able to move over the hump or with their strong attraction simmer and burn out?If you liked Fifty Shades, Gabriels Inferno, and Bared to You.. you'll like this one more!!! :-P

Jointly reviewed for [...]Gitte: Wow Jenny I absolutely loved this book for so many delicious reasons, I could not put it down. It definitely was a new play on the whole Fifty Shades & Bared to You theme, although comparisons are inevitable. I think this is my first book with a Flight Attendant theme and I kind of loved it hahaha. It was refreshing and yeah the whole Mile High club *wink wink*...HOT!Jenny: Yep, Gitte, this book, the first in a trilogy was definitely hot! I think the best way to explain our first thoughts is to quote our text message conversations that were flying back and forth early on.....J: "OMG! I am never going to sleep......4% in and I bloody love this book"G: "I'm at 32% and cannot put it down".....J: "I'm screwed then, it's gonna be a late one for me - I think we are in book love together".......G: "Yes you really are screwed and yes we are in book love".........J:. "Holy crap this book is so hot.....knicker change in seat 2D"I may never look at flying in the same light again! Okay, moving on!Gitte: The chemistry between Mr. Cavendish (sigh) and Bianca was fantastic, it not only ran deep on an emotional level it was pretty spectacular and steamy hot too! James Cavendish, *sigh* he is a yummy hot dominant alpha male...oh and let's not forget a billionaire to boot!! What that man can do...his whole attitude...be still my beating heart!! Bianca is a sweet gorgeous girl who is completely clued up and street wise. She knows what she wants and values everything she is and has. She is a mystery to start with which James slowly unravels as she unravels him in return. The scene with them on the plane right at the beginning, I suppose you could say after their first connection...umm I don't know about you Jenny but I may have re-read that one more than once whilst sat in the freezer!!Jenny: I can neither confirm nor deny if I re-read that scene.....oh who am I kidding, you know me too well, of course I did! And of course the freezer was the best place to read it. Wow, the chemistry was there right from the outset! No slow up build here - these two had an instant sexual connection. It was steamy alright. We're firstly introduced to Bianca and her best bud Stephan and I loved the relationship between these two. You're immediately drawn to Bianca as a character because she is so innocent on one level but so worldly on another and she became a very intriguing character for me right from the beginning. Mr Cavendish - well, what about him? Geez....hot, billionaire, alpha, possessive, dirty talking male who knows exactly what he wants and goes after it....... and he wants Bianca and the hunt is on! This man! I am devoid of speech where James Cavendish is concerned!Gitte: I am adamant not to talk too much about the story because this one is easy to spoil, what I will say is I fell in love with James & Bianca immediately, oh and I absolutely fell in love with Stephan too. These three characters are so well written and my connection to them was almost immediate. I felt the emotions, and as I learnt more of their background they definitely took a piece of my heart.I thought what we learnt of their back story was so well written; we were given just enough to hook us as readers, giving us an insight into their psyche and understanding their subsequent behaviours and actions.Bianca's relationship with James, it was not only LUSH; it was also an extremely emotional connection between two emotionally scarred people who upon finding each other learnt to open up to another albeit slowly. The end result of their traumatic pasts mirrored despite being different.The friendship between Bianca and Stephan was heart-breaking and yet so amazing. How these two came about finding each other when they were teenagers up till the dynamics of their present day friendship, I melted at the fierce love and protection.Jenny: I instantly loved the connection and friendship between Bianca and Stephan. They are rock solid and there for each other. They've been through so much and they mean everything to one another and I am dying to see their past unravelled further in Mile High (Book #2 available now)Yes, Gitte we do have to be very mindful not to give anything away for our fellow readers because it's all about peeling the layers away in this story and experiencing the journey. To let them discover why Bianca is so receptive to James and his lifestyle when everything about her past screams that she should be repelled by it.Gitte: So yeah Jenny, I really enjoyed book 1 in this series. I thought it was really well written; it kept me hooked till the end with great characters and a thrilling story. The balance between the `sex factor' and the story was spot on!Despite the similarities of some of the storyline to Fifty & Bared to You, I enjoyed it, as it was different enough to stand on its own. No inferior imitation here! I don't know about you Jenny but I am dying to start on book 2!!Jenny: I agree Gitte. I loved the writing, loved the characters and the storyline had me riveted and I was consumed with it step of the way!Like you say, there will be the inevitable comparisons to Fifty & Bared but this book is different and definitely not an imitation. There was a good story mixed in with the sex (oh dear god....the SEX IS HOT!!) so it had plenty of substance! So charge that phone Gitte because we will be burning up the phone lines once we start Mile High *wink, wink* !

I didn't really like this book. The story is slow and there is no development in the plot. I had a hard time reading it till the end.

Yes this is similar to 50 shades with the roles reversed, but the story line is good.....I have enjoyed the first book. And now I am on to reading the second book to see where this one will take me.. This is a good read....Maryanne

YES, i love all these books from the Up in the air series....This story is beautiful, sexy and totally fascinating.... WOWI must read these story again....I'll love it - I'll love it - I'll love it

J'ai trouvé ce livre par hasard et n'était pas particulièrement attirée par la couverture. (Format kindle)Une héroïne qui a les pieds sur terre(malgré une enfance difficile), Des personnages attachants, de l'intrigue... On reste captivé jusqu'au bout.Ca parait cliché mais "if you Liked E.L. James or Sylvia Day's bared to you, you'll like this book and tome 2 and 3."Bref une belle trilogie avec mile high et grounded.Bonne lecture.

Bianca is a flight attendant with her BF Stephan, they have been friends and work colleagues forever. As senior members of the crew, Bianca and Stephan work in first class. James Cavendish business man and billionaire is one of the passengers. He is immediately drawn to Bianca. But Bianca is very wary. After much persuasion she agrees to see him.First read for me by this author, I simply loved this first book in the trilogy. James is a many faceted character, he has never felt such a strong attraction to any woman before meeting Bianca. For her part Bianca can't quite believe that this gorgeous man (whom she refers to as Mr. beautiful) can possibly be interested in her, she decides to keep her emotions in check and try and play it cool with him. Although that's easier said than done. James is a true force of nature. He is dominant, passionate, tender and moody. James wants Bianca to be his sub in the bedroom. She is not averse to the idea. It turns her on to have a totally dominant James in total control during sex. James has told her he never lies, but the more Bianca gets to know James the more doubts creep in. Then when she is confronted with a situation where he has clearly lied. Bianca cuts her losses.But Bianca has a past which haunts her, or more precisely the memory of one person. Suddenly out of the blue that person suddenly appears and Bianca's life is in danger.Loved everything about this book, the characters were brilliant, the story was well written and fast paced, there are no dull dragging bits here. A real page turner. Loved all the other characters as well, especially Bianca's BF Stephan. If you love a full on alpha male who likes total control, and a heroine who is strong enough to stand up to him, then this is for you. The love scenes were hot. Especially the BDSM elements. I can hardly wait to read the next in the series.
