Zoo Med Repti Habitat Bearded Dragon Kit

My son is 11 years old and has been very excited about getting a leopard gecko. After a lot of research he decided on the Zoo Med Starter Kit. Upon arrival of this item it became apparent that apart from the initial expense of the kit he would need to spend more as the tank was extremely basic with no hides or moss, no heat mat or plants etc., and to add to that it appears that in order to leave the daylight lamp on for 12-14 hours as advised the wattage of the bulb was to high which could be dangerous.My son, although is extremely happy with the tank he has created has had to spend an awful lot of his pocket money to make sure it is set up correctly for this reptile and I feel we were misled in thinking that the starter kit was adequate.I would like to know your thoughts on this and therefore look forward to hearing from you.

Very good value for money compared to buying everything separately, contains all the basics, plus arrived super quick. My son loves it and thinks his frog will be very happy in it's new home.

Lid broke. My gecko died as it could escape. Avoid product! Only had the gecko a month!

Very budget, lights aren’t hot enough, comes with eu plugs, lid didn’t quite fit right on the front corners, thermometer reads incorrectly, accessories that came with it are ok

I have just received this item and I was extremely happy about it as this is my first reptile vivarium as I'm getting a leopard gecko rather soon. Anyway, I had sat down and started to open the package and I noticed 2 fresh cuts on my wrist and palm of my hand so I was dreading what had caused it and little to no surprise the tank was shattered on one side. The person transporting the enclosure does NOT GIVE A DAMN that the thing is glass as there was little protection on the viv.

Only comes with shaver plug attachments not plugs.The infrared bulb does not work I had to buy another.The UV bulb was not strong enough for a bearded dragon and the sand was too fine so it was a choking hazard also you need a digital thermometer not the strip thermometer this comes with.pet shop wouldn't sell me a bearded dragon until I spent another £60 changed parts.All vitamins not Included.I have been advised this setup will only last two months until it's not big enough.

My horned frog (peanut) is very happy in his new home. Great product, with a great selection of products in the tank saving lots of £'s.
