I needed to make a separate purchase for this due to me having bought my C7 a long time ago and thus didn't have AM4 mounts included. It's good that cooler manufacturers update existing products to work on newer boards.

This plate does work but it has a design flaw on the plate just like the other reviewers mentioned. The flaw is that the connection "locks" on the board are backward, so you need to force the fan legs through. Thanks causes some clicks/snaps, but your board should be fine. The pressure is on the backplate, not your board. I screwed one leg in at a time and it worked well. My board does have a slight bend from the plate but I believe it shouldn't harm anything. Hopefully it was worth it for the fan!

The fact that the equipment required to make this compatible with the hardware they say its compatible with is a significant chunk of the cost of the cooler extra is ridiculous. Their old stock is mixed with the new and there's no way to check a box that says "I have AM4, make sure you send the one with the miniscule difference in brackets that supports that".

it sucks that it doesn't come with original bracket out of the box for ryzen. It works with no problems.

Pros: Allowed me to use the C7 with a new Ryzen mini-itx build. Cons: Poor design with plastic backplate and fitment that allows for excess stress on motherboard. The backplate is also fairly difficult to mount on to the studs as the threaded part does not fit through the holes easily. I would recommend test fitting the backplate on to the studs before install as it was an extremely tight fit, I ended up putting it on the studs and taking it off multiple times to loosen it up a bit so it would go on cleanly during install. You must also be very cautious not to over tighten the nuts as it will easily allow you to do so and put pressure on the board, even bending it. I found I could only tighten them to just barely finger tight before it would start to warp the motherboard. I feel this is a pretty poor design using a plastic backplate and mounting hardware that allows for so much excess pressure on the board. On top of the poor fitment when trying to mount the backplate. In the end the kit does work but I feel like it could have been a lot easier to install as well as made to a higher quality. I think a metal back plate may have helped with both the fitment issue as well as the stress and flexing of the board I saw with the plastic one.

It's nice to be able buying AM4 bracket.

sadly i bought it for nothing cause it came already on my c7 cooler so i waisted a little more then 15$ canadian on this for nothing
