Q: How do these compare to normal metal hangers?

So, the gauge (thickness) of the metal on a normal metal wire hangers is 2.2mm. These are 125% thicker at 5mm, which affords them many multiples of strength more in terms of load capacity - upto 25 Lbs (12KG). See "How much stronger are they?" below.

Q: How do they compare in width?

A normal hanger is 42cm, or 16.5". These are 45cm, or 17.7". The extra width makes sure they sit better into the shoulder of jackets, etc.

Apart from the welded single loop finish, instead of a twisted wire, they have ergonomically shaped ends to better fit clothes and ensure they retain their shape.
