A very surprised compromise
I did all kinds of research on all of the latest "artificial trees" and was totally amazed by how wonderful they really have become. My only regret was not opting for a 9'. The 7 1/2' comes in 3 parts and a base. Put it together by myself (5'0" 55 & disabiled) in about 1/2 hour with some figiting for a few days after. Normally a 14 year old could have done it in 15 min. Beautiful tree model (the "Downswept Douglas Fir Tree) as were many others. The "Feel-Reel" does make it real, it holds ornaments that a real tree couldn't hold, stays in place (but you could move the whole tree if needed without much hassle). I love white lights, my husband loves the multi-colored so we got a tree with both options which seems to add approx $120-$150 so I would suggest that you try to work out your differences, but we planned to keep this as long as possible so we went the whole way. The bottom 2 parts are hinged and just fall open and then you can arrange the smaller branches to your liking. Read the instructions, they are short and worth it. Turn the lights on before you seperate out the smaller, unhinged branches so you can arrange the lights evenly. I saw some for $5,000 and some for $50, this is perfect for us. I would suggest getting a storage bag to store it in. It comes down easily, the hinged branches just collapsed and the smaller branches you just kind of "squeeze" the smaller ones together. This has 750 lights, I believe, which was enough, although they had some with up to 2500 lights (that would be way, way too many). LED lights put out a brighter light, so you don't want your tree to be drowned out by lights. And the greatest part was not having to deal with spacing lights or putting them on at all!!! Pick out the type of tree you like. We always had real trees and lived in the Pacific NW. Lots of comments from everyone and we didn't even put as many ornaments as usual and no garland. The tree alone was just beautiful. I might have gone for one with some "snow" on it but it seemed to come off too easy and had a weird smell. One person pointed out that it didn't go around while in its stand but that is a designer overkill to me. This is a perfect substitute for a real tree with a lot of benefits and only two things missing...the smell and the going into the forests and picking your own out, but as you get older and/or the forests are too far away this is great! I suspect the prices will drop a bit next year. Amazon Prime had great prices and instead of only one type of tree with one size, they had a small selection that came from their own warehouse. It arrived in perfect condition 5 days before expected. I reserve 5 stars for absolutely spectacular items and ideas. Had this been the first year they had come out it would have been a "5". Keep extra bulbs and fuses and look at the warranty. Don't get one with less than 2 years, but don't expect one with a 10 year warranty either because people don't always take care of things and then blame it on the manufacturer. I owned one other "fake" tree 25 years ago in S. Calif. we only used it 2 years and gave it away. It was a nice tree but nothing like the new generation of artificial trees. I don't want to take it down!

Wow!! Beautiful tree!!
I’ve always had a real tree… being a recent widow, I decided I didn’t want to deal with a real tree any longer. I did a lot of research and finally decided on this tree. It just arrived (three days before Christmas). My only regret is that I didn’t order sooner. Before I ordered I watched the company video on how to set it up and that is what sold me. It was so easy to put up. It does take some time to fluff all of the branches. I spent about an hour - then I stepped back and saw holes, so i fluffed some more. Then I took a picture and saw more holes, so I fluffed some more. The more you fluff the better it looks. In all I spent less time fluffing this tree than I would have spent picking out a live tree. It’s very realistic looking - there are two types of branches which, IMO, makes it look fuller and more realistic. There are tons of lights on the tree and you can set the lights to color, white, and numerous combinations of flashing, fading, steady etc. The video suggests fluffing the top section before putting it up - I would agree that would be easier, but does require two people - one to hold and one to fluff. I put it on and used a step ladder to fluff. There is a plug at the top for a tree topper. The cord is plenty long enough to reach my outlet without an extension cord. I ordered the 7 1/2 foot tree and it is much bigger than I expected - I absolutely LOVE this tree…..next year I will put it up early do I can enjoy it longer!!

One lady commented that it took her about 3 hours to properly fluff the whole thing and I would say that's pretty close to how long it takes
I read ALL of the reviews before I bought this tree, just to be sure it would be what we want. I have to say that, once properly put up and "prepared", this tree looks exactly as pictured on amazon. What I think some people who have bought it don't realize, is that once you put the three sections together, FIRST you absolutely must "fluff" every single branch of the tree. There were several comments about being able to see the pole. Yes, as soon as you put the sections on and pull the branched down, of course you can see the pole, but that's because the stems on each branch haven't been spread out. One lady commented that it took her about 3 hours to properly fluff the whole thing and I would say that's pretty close to how long it takes. You need to manually separate the branches, which are basically squished together since it's packaged that way. You just moved them around in all directions, straight up, straight, down, sideway, to start "filling in" the tree. And what I think could easily be missed by people is that the bottom two or three rows (can't remember how many rows have this), each "branch" that comes out of the pole is actually separated into 3 pieces at the end. You need to pull out, sideways, the two branches on the outside tip. The tip is still all one piece but they designed the tree where these particular tips branch out into three tips at the end, to help make the tree look fuller towards the bottom. It looks the same fullness all over the tree but they can't make the actual branches bigger or the tree would look silly so to combat this, at the lower 1/3 of the tree they made the branches this way so that you can still have more end tips, to fill it out more, but they're still the same size. You just have to buy the tree to know what I'm talking about, but I can easily see where some people wouldn't even know to do this because it's hard to tell you can unless you're playing around with it enough. But definitely, this tree is exactly what you get on the picture. Anything you read otherwise is simply because people didn't understand how you need to "fluff" it carefully in order to make it look right. And the various light options are really neat, especially if you have kids. You can have it all white the whole time (a soft colored white), all colored the whole time, alll white fading in and out very softly, all colored fading in and out softly. You can have it blinking all white or all colored. You can have it blinking while alternating between white and colored. So it's like there's something for everybody and you can just have a variety if you want. Very cool option!!

the tree was relatively easy to set up
I wanted to write a review of this tree as it seems as if the lighting has changed from previous years. At least, it seems to be so by reading previous reviews. First, the tree was relatively easy to set up. Putting the sections together was very easy. I did have some trouble finding the connections to connect the lights, but did ultimately figure it out. It might be nice if they were color coded or something. As for floofing the branches, that went pretty well. I took my time and went branch by branch starting at the bottom and ended up with a very nice, full tree. I expect I will continue to fluff it a little more here and there as I start decorating though. The inside branches have the needles made of that paper/plastic/tyvek-y stuff and the outer ones are the feel-real needles. I liked that each branch has a lot of sub branches so it really fills it in nicely. I also liked that I seemed to be less scratched up after setting this tree up compared to setting up my previous artificial tree. The picture Amazon has of the tree is a little deceptive. It looks like from the pictures that the branches nearly touch the ground. In actuality, the stand lifts them up pretty high. It looks like 20 inches or so (depending how the branches are fluffed). I think this will be a nice height to put presents under. I also didn't notice a lot of needles on the ground after setting it up, like I had with my previous tree. Now on to the lights...the version I received has 9 functions for the lights, all operated with the foot switch. The functions are: steady warm white steady multicolor fading warm white fading multicolor warm white fading to multicolor twinkling warm white twinkling multicolor twinkling warm white to multicolor (slow) twinkling warm white to multicolor (fast) All in all I'm very happy with this tree. I'll attach some pictures. They are not very good quality, but I think they will show the fullness.

Excellent Tree
This is a wonderful tree. I was a bit skeptical about ordering a Christmas tree online because photos can be deceiving, but I am pleased with the end result. This tree is full and looks great with a bit of fluffing. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the lights on the bottom of the tree are very densely packed but the middle and top sections have a few sparse areas. The lights could have been better distributed for a more even appearance but overall I am very happy with this purchase.

It’s the most wonderful…tree!
I purchased this exact tree in 2015 and here we are 10 years later and it still is working great! It was the first artificial tree we ever bought, and I have no regrets other than maybe I should’ve gotten a taller one. Yes, it takes time to fluff it properly but if you do, it looks beautiful. I love how the lights have so many options especially the one changing from warm white to bright colored lights. My husband loves white lights but I love the bright colors, so we’re both happy! I will never buy an artificial tree except from this company.

Pretty tree , one section light dark, no extra lights, fuses, instructions!
Fluffed out nicely, exceeded y expectations. Lights are another story. As you can see lights out right middle. Have found many, many , many connections and made them. Amazon instructions say consult the “manual”, no manual came with the tree. Cannot even register warranty as nothing came with tree OR on Amazon listing has the item number! Every single number on box tree came in are covered by super sticky stickers so cannot read any numbers at all!! No extra bulbs or fuses came with the tree. These things could have been provided for what the tree cost. Called or Chatted with Amazon for Help finding item number, said I would hear back (did not say how??? Where??? within 6 hours and provided item number. Did not hear back from Amazon! Without the time wasting problems above that could have been prevented by National tree company providing a manual and accessories and necessary numbers. Tree is a 5, time wasting and partial lights and wasting hours is an1 star!

Perfect choice! Highly recommend!
I originally wanted to purchase a Balsam Hill 7.5 foot artificial Christmas tree but they were out of stock. We watched the videos on both trees and decided to try the National Tree Company 7.5 ft pre-lit tree. I love that you can choose the lighting. We received our tree on Friday and put it up just to make sure it everything was perfect with it. It is exactly what we wanted. It was easy to assemble, took about 90 minutes for my husband and I to fluff it and we are very happy with it. My other artificial Christmas tree is gorgeous and has lasted 25 years but unfortunately it’s starting to show its age. If this Christmas tree lasts that long, it will probably out live us since we are in our 70’s!

Very disappointed
Very disappointed. I was excited to set up the tree but the lights are not working properly now that sits all decorated. I did plug them in initially and everything seemed fine. Now they won’t stay on. I had to add lights as I have family events and needed my tree for those. This was an expensive tree and expected better quality. Very disappointed
