Does it only fit on right side or will it fit on both side ok

Yes. It will fit either side. It is the screw that holds it on that makes it right or left. One of the screws is reverse threaded.

My originals have stripped. I'm going to get this but was wondering if any of you have found a permanent solution to prevent plastic from stripping?

Use Locktight to help keep the screws from loostening. I did this after having the same problem and having to replace one disc, after only 3-4 uses. I also used epoxy putty to repair the second disc along with locktight, and knock on wood, it's been fine for about a year now. I also spoke to the company, who replaced the first disk for free, and told them (submitted a "suggestion") that they needed a medal hub in the center of the disc's instead of plastic.

Is this the right side if your standing behind or in front of spinwave?

Right side is when you’re standing behind the spinwave. I had to order a replacement right side plate that the pad goes on and that is the side that has the left hand thread screw. I had your same confusion when I was trying to order this part. Keep the screws tight or the pad plates will strip and need to be replaced.
