Non-standard pinning. DCD is tied to DSR on both ends (1+6)
This review is for the gold plated version. It has non-standard pinning. Pins 1 & 6 are tied together on both ends. This ties DCD to DSR on both ends. There is no reason to do this, even on a full handshake null modem connection. TXD and RXD should be cross connected (2-3 & 3-2), DSR and DTR should be cross connected (4-6 & 6-4), CTS & RTS should be cross connected (7-8 & 8-7), and ground (5-5). There is no reason to tie DCD to DSR. This caused them not to work with my application.

It works
It works. Converts to a null modem, or flips a null modem cable to a normal one. Does remove the ring pin, which is normal.
