Easy to use
This product is really easy to use. If You're expecting a certain color, it's not your product. But if your goal is just to keep the gray under control it works wonderfully.

Heck Yeah!
At 50, I was pretty grey, pretty fast on the sides. I don’t care about getting older, I just don’t want to look like may father at the same age. I bought the blonde to light brown and used it every day for 2 weeks.I get in the shower, wet my hair, lather in this shampoo, then do the rest of my routine with body soap. I wondered how long I was actually leaving it in before I rinsed it out after I finished my routine, so I timed myself with my phone leaned against the glass. Roughly 3 minutes. Rinse it out, dry off, no issues. After 2 weeks I am back to my natural hair color. I’m lucky at 50 and have as much hair as I did at 18. Took my son and I to get a haircut by the same lady who has cut our hair for 15+ years. She actually said, “you don’t have any grey hair that’s not fair!” (She is 5 years older than me).I use it twice a week now. No change so far. Fingernails on dominate hand did change slightly. Almost like they got smashed and were dark at the cuticle. No one noticed.I have white and natural stone in my shower, so I do keep Clorox shower cleaner with bleach and spray it down after I’m done with GX (OCD).I don’t mind some grey hair, I don’t want to look like I color my hair. You will like this product.

I tried some traditional Just for Men solutions with poor results and gave up on them
This review is for the Blond/Medium Brown version of the shampoo.I've been going gray gradually for years, beginning above the ears and in the back. I tried some traditional Just for Men solutions with poor results and gave up on them. I tried salon coloring which worked well, but I could not justify the ongoing cost. When I recently began to see longer strands of gray at the hairline, I decided to give this shampoo a try. It actually works as advertised! It eliminated the longer strands of gray and gently darkened the concentrated gray patches, so it is natural looking without making it obvious that I'm using color. There are a few tips that I'll state or reiterate from other reviews:1. Before using, knead the tube for a while to ensure it's well mixed. Do this prior to each use.2. Use it every day according to the directions for 1.5 to 2 weeks or until you achieve the desired results.3. Thereafter, use once or twice a week for maintenance purposes. This is expensive for shampoo, but it's a good value compared to the coloring alternatives and you cannot beat the ease of application.

Works just like it says it will, So impressed with the results
My hair has gone mostly white and not any shade of grey. I had light brown/blonde hair and still have some. I'm really old school and would never in my life think of coloring my hair and I never ever would dye it like my wife would, you know those drastic color changes. This seemed to be a way I could completely control, and slowly, a gradual change back to my normal color. And just to experiment mind you. I really expected this to look unnatural. Well I can't tell you how pleased I am with this. I've shampooed daily using this and the color change is almost imperceptible from one shampoo to another. This is just what I wanted. I've used it for just about 2 weeks and the white hair has mostly gone to just about light blonde/brown. It looks like my hair color that I wanted to keep. It's funny no one has noticed but my wife. She says it looks completely natural. I still have variances in the color as I did before, and before I acquired the white hair, but the white is almost gone. I can continue to use this everyday to go darker or just once or twice a week to maintain the color I have now. My wife has just a few grey hairs and she is so impressed with my results she wants to use it herself rather than use her hair dye which she says can be unpredictable at times let alone the times she goes to the professionals and comes home in tears at what they have done. So there is my confession that I finally broke down and tried something like this. I was really thinking this just couldn't work but I was wrong. So wrong and also so impressed I had to put it out there.

Okay, but the "Brain" is still flummoxed by resistant greys
Update: After finishing the tube, I've decided to go back to JFM Original at least for now, in one shade lighter than my natural color, leaving it on for an extra few minutes. Convenience aside, I find that it does the better job of covering greys for me, maybe because the peroxide enhances penetration. I'm even thinking of trying Clairol Natural Instincts in women's dark cool blonde at some point (no law against that).Control Gx is okay for grey reduction, but in order to cover (or try to cover) enough for some of us youngish subjects of sub-par genetics and/or chronic stress, it appears that you have to use it to the point of darkening your natural color some. Which in turn might come at the risk of some remaining greys (or brassy former greys) standing out. In a way, it's similar to the Original Formula, which "targets the grey", but apparently also the rest given what happens when you overdo it a bit while trying to fight the resistance. That said, for some it may be a little more convenient to shampoo every so often to restore some color than to do a dye job every X weeks. And it could be better for those regularly using Original but throwing out half the product because they have short hair. Overall, it's better than trying to hunt down an acceptable women's permanent color and hoping it doesn't fry your hair or be judged too artificial for a man. ;-)
