Cool Concept, But Requires More Effort than Traditional Step Up Rings
This step up ring is well made and even comes with it’s own protective pouch. I was able to put it on to various sized lenses and it fit my 77mm filter perfectly. It is more compact than carrying multiple step up rings. The one issue I had is that it is a little more difficult to put on than a traditional step up ring. You have to twist it to the correct size and then place it on your lens without it moving out of place. For me, it just seems easier to have step up rings. Plus, traditional step up rings are relatively inexpensive. I can see this adapter ring having a place with people who change lenses a lot. For me, I may only use 2, maybe 3 lenses max during a session, so it’s not that practical. Although I think the concept is really cool and the item is well made, the practicality is lost with me. Four stars.

Handy variable adapter ring
This is a very handy variable adapter ring. Twist and grip the ring, mounts freely on my 72, 77mm lenses without having to screw threads that tend to get stuck on the lens. For those who want to travel light to shoot, then I would recommend

Ok adapter
Easy to install on different lens sizes and looks well made.Bad things is it doesn’t tighten on the lens so if you use like a CPL filter and try to adjust it,it spins with the filter you have to hold the adapter with one hand and try to adjust the CPL filter with the same hand.If it were to tighten on the lens it would work but it don’t

Where have you been all of my life?
No more cone of step up rings for me. I have the 52-72mm to 77mm which covers most of my lenses and I have mostly 77mm filters so I can just lets say use 1 nd filter set to cover all of my lenses smaller than that. To attach to your lens you simply rotate the rings in opposite directions until the center (pretty cool as it looks like an aperture ring in a lens) is smaller than your lens thread and hold with as many fingers as you need and place on the end of your lens and slowly release the spring loaded rings until it matches your lens filter size and give it a little turn to lock in to the threads (Take note that by design if you turn the filter trying to tighten it... it will spin indefinitely but you can feel the spot that is the tightest while turning and leave it there). This basically works just like your lens cap it is using springs to push out on the threads to stay attached and does not actually screw in and tighten down like an actual filter would. If you are clumsy or plan on running around in the woods and bumping your camera around then this variable step ring is not made for you as that is not what it is designed for... yes you could easily knock the ring off if you hit the end of your lens hard on something. To remove the ring you don't unscrew it but simply rotate the outer and inner rings again to remove it. All of this is the very short manual. This H&Y variable step up ring is great and works exactly as described if used as intended.
