Once you have it, would not be without one
This was an easy install on a 21 ft boat. Under the console. The GPS is very accurate, and as long as within cell phone range it allow family members on shore to always find the position of the boat if it is being used. And of course track it, if stolen. In addition, it allows you to always know the status of the boat? My boat is on a drive on floating dock at a weekend home. I am notified of any boat movement by gps geo fence and also of any motion under the mooring cover. My installer rigged it to turn on the boats horn for an alarm. In addition, I installed a wi-fi extender that works at my dock and installed a Ring Floodlight motion detector Camera system pointed at the boat. It also has an alarm and a mic. so I can speak to anyone on my dock letting them know they already have been recorded and cops are on the way if need be.I like that it always shows you your battery status and is there water in the bilge etc. For the price of the unit and the low monitoring fee, it is a bargain to give you added piece of mind for various things that can go wrong and allow you to react without actually going out to the boat. Just being able to check the status of your batteries from your phone without removing a mooring cover is enough reason for me to own it. Even with a built in battery maintainer, you can still have battery issues thus bilge pump issues if the boat is in the water or on an electric lift with the plug installed.

Be Careful Before You Buy
I read about Boat Command online at electronics sites and boating forums before buying. I had the feeling that it was 'dated' compared to other monitoring systems, but the reviews and price were good so I bought it. The installation was easy. The sensors work and the information is fast, including text messages to your cell phone. So what's my beef? The owners manual is useless and has almost no information. There are a few lightweight videos at their website but no system documentation. There are features that aren't explained at all. Their support responds to emails but it appears to be a third party contractor rather the company and their knowledge of the product is limited. All told, this seems like a product near the end of its life. I don't recommend it and wouldn't buy it again when other better and more modern systems are available, even for more money.

Don't Buy !
I had been a very satisfied Boat Command customer for the last 7 years and everything worked fine and the customer service was really good until the beginning of 2023 when management decided to STOP sending text messages for "BILGE PUMP" ALARMS.Knowing when your vessel may be sinking is really important as the number one rule of boating is:KEEP THE WATER OUT !!So, until they decide to renew sending "BILGE PUMP ALERTS" you may want to consider a different provider.

Appear to be going out of business
I have 3 of these and I loved them and told dozens of friends about them - BEWARE - something is going on and it appears the company is going out of business. They are no longer supporting their app - Who does that?? I am no longer getting text updates on the 3 units when there is an alarm - ONLY emails and NOT on all of them! Very sporadic. Bottom line, if you can’t trust it - it is useless!! Again - Beware if you are just starting out - Why are there only 2 left???UPDATE: They managed to fix the issue of not getting the text alerts, just emails - that is helpful. The problem still remains that they refuse to support the app - That means you have to LOG ON, EVERY time you want to check in on your boat. This is 2019... Their answer was “it is too expensive”. My answer is “Raise the price”. Hope they get this straightened out soon!! Support is helpful, but can’t fix the main issue. Again - I have 3 of these.

This is a wonderful product and very easy to install
This is a wonderful product and very easy to install. Pays for itself as my insurance company reduced my premium 10% . I would give it 5 stars but for the fact that instructions go on and on about installing the app. Finally called the 800 number as was told there is no app. You have to monitor the boat through the web site. That’s not hard but if you ask for an updated report the site says it will automatically update in 30 seconds. That’s true but to get the updates you have to close the website and reopen. I was told a new app might be out in 8 months. Still, I’m very satisfied.

Easy remote monitoring of your boat investment.
I Installed the system myself on our boat over a month ago. It has exceeded my expectations and gives me the GPS position and “real time status” of both battery systems, both builge systems, temperature, hi water alarm and the ability to remotely control three relays.I use it to remotely control/monitor from my iPhone the aft pump, the cabin heater and an electric heater for the engines. The monthly cellular modem connection fee is less than $10 a month and works well. There are other features which I haven’t yet used: Geo fence alarm, anchor drag alarm, door entrance alarm and loss of A/C power status.A well priced product for the value of monitoring your boat from anywhere with your phone or computer.

When it works, its great!
Customer service is good. It worked well on our first boat and having trouble with it working on our second boat. We are trying to figure out what is the problem. It seems to be running down our battery. We were even sent a new model, so hopefully things get worked out.
