Mainly wheat!
I bought this not realising that the first ingredient is wheat flour. That's fine, but I can't eat wheat, so had to chuck it which was a shame because it smelt delicious.

Taste is before you purchase it.
Utterly disgusting taste a very acquirered taste suppose if you not brought up on it. Heat is perfect just good but sadly not for me. Other than that great container.

Read Ingredients, it’s just flour and glucose syrup
I bought this as it’s name is “Pepper Paste” and had good reviews but noticed it’s only 15% pepper powder, and the rest is just flour and glucose syrup. I’m really surprised that it is legal to call this pepper powder infused syrup as “pepper paste” and has good reviews. Edit: Checking 9 months later, pepper “powder” ratio has been reduced to 10%, yet it’s still called pepper paste. Jaw dropping

Good but expensive
Great hot pepper paste and is a must with many Korean dishes, works well with stir fried rice or noodles and makes a great sauce, adding a real depth of flavour. My only dislike is the price, it can be a little hard to get hold of but keep an eye out for it in your supermarket, it will be ⅓ of the price

So versatile.
Where do I start? I first heard of this when I was 18. Since then, I've made Gochujang rice, chicken and even in my toasties!! Its quite spicy, so just be ready for a mouth-splosion. The tub is so little, but contains so much, as a little goes such a long way!! Easy to use, just either slap a table spoon in a pan to cook with, and away you go!! It is a fermented red pepper paste, Korean? It contains sugars, salt (plenty of it) and its also somewhat of a flaviniod. Do not spill this on ANYTHING. You'll need to just welcome the new colour. This is so cheap, considering how high overall quality it is. All in all, this is an a must have for any home cook! The amount of recipes using Gochujang that are out there, is insane. So versatile, so flavoursome, so addictive 😍 😋

It was not spicy
I used mine today and I have to say it wasn't wht I expected ,it actually Tasted more like tamarind ,it wasn't spicy at all ,there was no hint of hotness to it .
