Dimensions Needle Felting Kit for Beginners, Wool, Multicolor, 4'' x 6'' Finished Size

My daughter, 13 years old, loved creating this felt llama. It was her first felt project and she did it brilliantly, it's not too difficult. It arrived within a few days and we can highly recommend it.

First time at felting, couldn't put it down once I started. I think I have found my new hobby ☺

This arrived quickly. All equipment you need is provided. Just so you know the measurement from foot to top of ears is probably about 15cm so not big by any means. Great step by step instructions with pictures to help you along. Very easy to make. There is some sewing to be done but I'd quite easy. Some of the instructions for the sewing aren't particularly easy if you're not a sewing buff but I managed it in the end. Great finished product

First I am a beginner but advise that you might want to start with something else instead of this one. I found that there were less than perfect materials involved with this project. Most of it is with Roving wool which is super hard to needle to firm. I only managed because I added some of my own wool. Carded batt would have been much easier for this project except for the curls on the body which I also found that there was not enough provided for this project. There was a lot of resituating which was quite hard to do. The legs were impossible and I found that I had to use pipe cleaners to be able to stand this up otherwise it would have not stood at all. So with this said I feel that there had been better materials and more of them it would have been a lot easier to felt.

Even though the directions are very detailed, as a beginner to felting, the guidelines for the size of the wool pieces do not reflect the proper size for the llama. It may be my inexperienced felting technique. More directions on how much you should needle the wool might be more helpful. It needs to get to a very solid consistency based on a finished product someone gifted me. Without that I would not have known how much to needle. But it’s still fun. Maybe this was not good for a beginner.

I could use a bit more step by step in pictures because I am brand new to felting.

This was such a fun and easy project! I purchased it as a gift for a friend and she really enjoyed making it. The instructions were clear and the materials were a great quality. The only problem was that there didn't seem to be quite enough of the roving to make him as fluffy as the picture.
