My first time trying an endoscope. Therefor I have nothing to compare it to. Having read many reviews for other products I anticipated for the price this one would have the same complaints: very small focal distance between in and out of focus, must be quite close to object being viewed to bring it into focus, slightest movement takes it in and out of focus, difficult to determine your relative viewing position inside the object you're examining, and generally has a bit of a learning curve on how to use it effectively.I used it with a Samsung Galaxy S8+ and it works perfectly.......once I found a software app that worked (Google PlayStore - CameraFi 2 ). That app made it easier to orient the viewing lens because it electronically allows adjustment of the view without moving the actual camera lens.I found it extremely useful in examining the areas of the body we sometimes wish we could look at more closely....the inside of an ear, the inside of a mouth, the scratch on my back, and so on.When the object is in focus the picture is just fine.....for the uses I've put it to so far.It is well worth the price.

picture is rough. depth of field is very short . this company reached out to me with a full replacement or a refund. I love that level of customer service and dedication to a quality product. I wish they would show you how close to an object you need to be to see any detail. I think I can find other uses for this camera and will not be returning it. When viewing the picture clearly shows my fingerprint it would be great for very up-close applications. It would not be handy to say find your car keys in five feet of water.

I am a mechanic and I was hoping this would work in some tight spaces. It is flexible and the light works good but it will not work with my Motorola phone at all. Luckily I have my old Android phone and after downloading the software 6 times I finally got the camera to work. The picture quality is a lot lower than I expected and it does not focus very fast at all. If I let it sit for a few minutes it will eventually focus and has a mediocre picture.

I bought this to do inspections around the house (underground pipes, gutters, etc.) and it's a good length for those types of applications. If you need some sort of specific focal length, maybe spend the extra $...but the built in LEDs and the included hardware are nice bonus features. I tried the recommended app and found it not really useable. I'd recommend trying the "USB Camera" from the Google Play Store!

For the $, this does what I need it to do as a borescope and mechanics tool. Excellent! Picture isn't "perfect", but it's plenty good enough for my purposes.

It works very well.However if you attach the hook that comes with, the focus goes to the hook but not the view beyond .

unable to focus up closely.

Would not work with my Moto x phone.
