The media could not be loaded. This is a handy gadget with many safety and other advantages over traditional matches and fuel lighters. It is super easy to use, generally safer without risks from flames and has an auto-shutoff feature, as well as can be re-charged so you don't have to buy batteries, making it a sustainable option. I love how it has the very bendable, but strong, goose neck, so it can literally reach around corners and into tight crevices, which might be handy for a mechanic or anyone lighting burners and stoves, including camp stoves. But for general purpose lighting of candles and starting dry kindling or paper under fires to stoke fireplaces and fire pits, especially in windy conditions, it seems superior to other options. This lighter was plug-and-play, working immediately right out of the box, although you are supposed to charge it after it has been partly depleted, and it should last a long time with typical occasional use. An arc lighter reaches a higher temperature so will heat and work better and faster than lighters and matches, yet is generally safer, with the arc focused between the two small posts, doesn't risk dropping like a match because when you take your finger off the button it instantly shuts off the arc, and there is also an auto shutoff of the whole device after only about 5-7 seconds after you press the on switch. The wind won't blow it out, which is really helpful, and the only thing I noticed to be careful of, is when I went to insert it back in the box, because it's a tight fit, I bumped the buttons against the inside of the box including the on switch and start button, so heard the arc briefly, but it still would auto shutoff quickly, but I don't think I will keep it in the original box because what if I or someone else went to pull it out, and accidentally opened it from the arc end, bumped the buttons, and burned their finger. Unlikely, but maybe possible. Instead I plan to keep it out of reach in an open small tool storage bin where the button can't bump anything, and where it is a cool dry location. The instructions also give typical precautions common with products that are electric to keep away from high heat and not let it get wet, yet they advertise it can be used in wet environments, so I assume they mean letting it get submerged. The instructions say to basically not use it in extreme temperatures so around very high heat, or subject it to very extreme changes from cold to hot, and humid damp environments possibly where moisture could build up inside the unit and corrode the electronics or damage the battery. Overall, this is a very easy to use and useful product to have around that works great so far.

Long battery life works great

You cannot unblock where your supposed to plug in the USB cord. I used a sharp object to get it out and got stabbed twice in my stomach and once in my thumb. It's piece of crap. DON'T BUY IT

I just started getting into candles about a year ago. Since then I've been using matches, the long ones. But matches are smoky, smell bad & there's still a good a chance of burning yourself... they break & then there's the splinters. You get the idea ... Then one day, I ran out of matches, couldn't find a single one. And I thought .. time to get a lighter! What took me so long ?I picked a good one! It is pretty, looks high-end, I got the gold one. But more importantly is that it is so easy to use. ~ I love it! ~ It came fully charged, but it does come with a small little cord to recharge it. It has 2 switches ... to put it on & then to light it up. It tells you how much charge is left. And best of all.. of course, is the flexible neck. It can reach all the way down into your candle easily, even if candle is burned all the way down. This is so much better than matches. Now I can really enjoy my candle habit!-- This is an attractive lighter ...it would make a great gift.-- You could even pair it up with a candle & give it for Christmas or any occasion.-- 5 stars - recommend!

I got this when my outdoor gas grill stopped igniting, hoping that it would reach the burners without taking off the grate and burner covers to get the thing started. Well, it didn't work, the angles didn't work. OTOH, it does eliminate the need for matches once the burners are open.
