Roborock Exceeds Expectations!
I do not write many reviews but I am compelled to with my experience. We are coming from the original iRobot 6xx series robot vacuums: loud, hair gets tangled and requires lots of clean-up, frequent emptying of dust bin, etc. I went with the Roborock based on the Vacuum Wars YouTube channel and I did expect a lot for what I paid but I had no clue it would perform so well. I have had the unit since Christmas and have been running it hard. Let me also say that our house is 100% hardwoods/tile except for some occassional area rugs. I have not tested the vacuum on carpet or anything thick whatsoever but based on the rest of my experience, I would expect nothing but good things.QUIET!The unit is super quiet, if you have ever been turned-off due to the noise, its night and day. We clean during the night and have never heard it, you can run it while you are there and would hardly know its on.HAIR DOES NOT GET TRAPPED!I have 3 females, a golden retriever, and 2 cats. The rubber roller bar is incredible. After many cleanings I hardly have to get hair out, and if I do its on the edges, take out the ends and out slides the hair. No more scissors to cut it out and it just simply doesn't exist on the rollerbar, I don't know how it works so well.VACUUMSuction is superb, hardly anything missing off our dark hardwoods, and I would notice. The dock has a super powerful suction to transfer from the robot to the dust bin and was hardly half full after a month. Again, the lack of needing to dig things out of the vacuuum and the fact the floors look like the cleaners came is just a testament to how well this thing saves time and is worth the investment.MOPThis was the area I was most skeptical about, mainly due to design and thinking that there's no way it would actually be able to clean very well. Well, it does. My golden comes in and leaves muddy paw prints everywhere, spills and spots in the kitchen, the dust build-up in the bathroom corners and whatnot, the thing just performs. My mother thought the cleaners had come when she came to dog sit for us. Sometimes I can see maybe a film or streaks but its really a non-issue, and only in the perfect light when I look from an angle. The solution is a 300:1 ratio and mixes with the water so its light on hardwoods and lasts a long time. The clean water bin both is used for mopping and cleaning the mop. You will need to fill it up about once every week or 2 based on how much you mop. For me, its 2x a week (Tuesday and Friday mornings) and lasts a little over a week maybe close to 2 weeks and that is for 1500-1600sf downstairs. The mop pre-wets itself before it starts and cleans itself on a cadence in back at the dock. The place where it cleans from time to time needs to be cleaned with a rag, maybe every few weeks, not a big deal at all.BATTERY LIFEThe thing could vacuum or mop my entire house on a single charge I bet. Most of the time after a 1-2 hour run it still has 40-50% battery left. I have yet to have a circumstance when it would go back to charge and resume but have all the confidence that it would.NAVIGATIONThe unit chooses efficient paths, gets to where its going and comes back, doesn't get lost, ever. There are 2 ways to get to some spots and it is smart to know if its a shorter route by taking one (around our living/dining room) or cutting through our master closet to get back to laundry quicker. If the door is closed, no problem, it just turns around and goes the other way.AVOIDANCEExtremely complex camera and LIDAR system, maps out the house and avoids objects in real-time. Has hardly ever sucked anything up that hung it up, maybe once, it does a great job of avoidance. There are settings for this that will avoid as many bumps and I guess damage to baseboards and such, I think the only thing I would say is I'd like to see it attempt to push through a bedskirt or table cloth before it just turns around and avoids the area entirely, but it does instill tons of confidence that it will make every effort to clean what it can without getting into trouble. I have noticed that when I move our chairs around in the den it will try several passes to find ways to clean where I moved them, but will eventually give up, very smart.APP/TECHI am in software development by trade and the level of customization and configuration is quite frankly mind-blowing. Complex schedules based on pre-set mop/vac settings, quick cleans, slicing rooms any way you want, intensity of mop and vacuum combinations, mop head clean interval, clean with the grain of the hardwoods, there is not a single setting missing from this app. It works, it works well, I am just so happy with it.SUPPORTA Chinese company I never heard of, I was wondering how support would be. Well, on Christmas Day when I couldn't get it to pair to my phone to join my Wi-Fi, I called Customer Support, got someone on the phone, and they resolved my issue within 10 min. So, if that is any indication, I am super excited about the support if I ever were to need it in the future. I purchased the 3 year extended warranty from Amazon for $120, thought it would be worth it to see how long everything lasts.CONCLUSIONI can't keep talking about this robot vacuum to friends and family. It works and performs so well I just know something has to go wrong, the thing will die or break or explode. But I pray that it does not and continues to deliver high marks in every area. I do not have any gripes and honestly, with how it makes my house look, and the $150/pop we were spending on a cleaner, this thing will pay for itself in less than a year. For us, it truly does seem to replace a mop and vacuum aside from maybe the quarterly deep cleanings. I cannot recommend the Roborock enough and just had to write the review. If you've never had a robot vacuum/mop before, prepare to be blown away. If you have and had bad experiences or lackluster performance, noise, maintenance, this will be an even bigger shock as to how truly automated everything is. Replacement costs are low in the solution and the bags, maybe a few mop heads you can remove and throw in the washer. Happy cleaning and I hope you have as good of an experience as me!

The vacuum cleans well, and it's easy to use. I would 100% purchase again.
TLDRThe vacuum cleans well, and it's easy to use. I would 100% purchase again.Backstory:Our older generation Roomba constantly hits walls and eats our rugs. However, with two young children and a dog in the house, I needed a reliable vacuum cleaner. This robot vacuum has been a game-changer for us, as we now have clean and mopped floors daily.Review:The Roborock's self-emptying feature is truly amazing. It's so convenient not to keep checking and emptying the dustbin or refilling the water tank. It's almost like having a personal cleaning assistant! The suction power is excellent for cleaning dirt and dog hair from our hardwood and carpeted living room. However, one downside of this vacuum is that the dirt bin has a vacuum bag that needs to be replaced. Although you can replace it, I have been using our large vacuum to suck out the dirt and reuse it.I was pleasantly surprised by the mopping capability of the Roborock. Initially, I had doubts due to some negative comments I had read about its effectiveness. However, given that we have a toddler who often drops food on the floor, I decided to try it. I particularly dreaded cleaning up dried and hardened yogurt drops. For my first cleaning, I used a double intense scrub cycle with a cleaning solution consisting of a small amount of Bona hardwood cleaner and water from our RO water system to prevent calcium deposits. I was amazed that the Roborock managed to get rid of all the food spots. Now, I use a balanced setting for daily mopping as part of active maintenance. I find myself changing out the water tanks every four days. The LiDAR Navigation feature of the Roborock vacuum is quite impressive. Unlike my old Roomba, which randomly bounced around, the Roborock uses intelligent navigation to clean my home efficiently. It creates a map of my house and plans the best cleaning route while avoiding any obstacles. This feature is a massive time-saver as I no longer have to guide the vacuum around the house manually. The Roborock can vacuum and mop my 269ft2 kitchen within 27 minutes.I enjoy using the app for my Roborock. The vacuum quickly mapped my home and various rooms, allowing me to select which rooms I wanted to clean. Additionally, I can adjust the vacuum power or mopping intensity based on my preferences. One handy feature is the remote control function to guide to a specific area to clean. The app offers a joystick that enables me to steer my Roborock manually. Another nifty feature is setting up "no-go" zones and invisible walls. I use these to avoid obstacles that my Roborock may get stuck on. My wife has also started using the app to direct the Roborock. That is a large seal of approval as she typically has less patience and curiosity for "smart" devices. Overall, this app has made cleaning my home much more convenient and efficient. There have been a few occasions where the Roborock vacuum has become confused and lost the map of our home. Usually, this happens after I've used the remote control function or physically moved the vacuum to a different part of the house. However, I used the map backup feature to keep everything synced. All I need to do is select our house map again within the app, and then I can continue using the vacuum as usual.Another helpful feature is the integration with Alexa. Through voice commands, I can control the Roborock with Amazon Alexa. I simplified the prompts by setting up a routine in the Alexa app. For example, instead of saying, "Alexa, ask Roborock to clean the kitchen," I can say, "Alexa, clean the kitchen." This also makes it easier for my family to use the vacuum.I have some concerns about the long-term usage of this product due to the numerous working parts involved, both in the vacuum and the base. At some point, something may wear down and break. However, I am taking great care to follow the recommended maintenance procedures to reduce the likelihood of any additional wear and tear. This isn't an indicator of poor build quality. Just like everything mechanical, things wear down eventually.

Impressive Improvement over our Old Roomba
As many of you, watched many product reviews and testing videos before deciding to purchase this (and Amazon helped with a $200 off coupon)Had immediate issues getting the thing to connect to our WIFI and smart phone (iPhone) but I found the tech support number in the booklet and called at 11 pm at night and someone helped! (If your wifi is weaker, just carry the device over next to your router and make sure your "cellular" is turned OFF on the smart phone....connected and updated on the first attempt! Has to be a 2.4 wifi, 2.4G won't work.)Pros:-Really does a good job mopping the hardwood floors and has settings from light to even doing a double mop!-Much quieter than the old Roomba 694 unless you put the vacuum on a higher power.-Does not slam into things like the Roomba did and we put felt pads all around the Roomba because of this.-We love the "spot clean" feature....just carry it over to the mess and hit the button and it'll vacuum and mop around a 5-foot area and then return itself to the base.-Has never gotten lost or stuck, radar works great and we've not, yet, seen the battery die out while working...even when doing a deep, double-mop in our large master bedroom.-Love how it self-cleans the mop and then dries it...haven't worried about mold or mildew growing on it.-We have three dogs and haven't had to clean out stuck hair from around the wheels or spinners or tray.-If stuff happens, very easy to cancel and return it the dock, just one button on the app on the phone.-It will build a map of your areas and update every time it does a job...very cool! And you can have other floors mapped. (I think the limit is 4.)Cons:-There is a learning curve to this thing...expect to spend time on the App learning how to do things. (It took me a while just to figure out how to save a vacuum-only job.) Also watch videos on YouTube to learn tricks...the owners' manual is very basic.-None of the tanks (dirty water, clean water, vacuum bag) will let you know when they need to be serviced so you just have keep an eye on them.-The unit vacuum is quite loud when it sucks out the stuff from the robot but it does a really good job of it...hardly anything left in the bin.-A tad annoying there's no "Fill" line on the fresh water bin so unsure just how much to put in there.Overall glad we got this thing....also purchased the 3-year extended warranty.
