Seems pretty stout
This feels like a pretty strong little hook. It opens and closes nicely. The grapple part hooks in securely and holds great. I don't know that I'd use it for climbing. Well, I know that I wouldn't trust it for climbing. It's fun to play around with, and handy for tossing a line etc. My kid loves it too. My only real gripe about it is that if you don't have it in Grapple mode, the extra batwing/hook has no place to be stored. So it'll get lost for sure. Other than that, cool little toy/tool. Handy to have with you for sure!

Fun little gadget, wouldn't trust my life to it though!
This little grappling hook is fun and cool, and any guy would want to have one. With that said, it's not exactly a 'rock climbing' tool per se, as in the fact that I wouldn't trust my weight to it in a life-or-death scenario.... But I could see throwing it over a branch or other target in order to pull it towards me, or PERHAPS a smaller person could actually use it to support themselves, but I wouldn't recommend it!For the most part, this seems to me to be a novelty item, and everyone I've shown it to gets excited, probably from our childhood memories of ninjas and other action heroes we've seen on TV doing cool stuff with grappling hooks. For the price, you can't go wrong, even if you never end up using it 'in the field'.

Small but useful.
Although this hook is small it is very useful for getting a lead line across a creek or river that you may need to cross. I wouldn't trust it with my full weight if rock climbing but otherwise a good quality item.

Neat little grapple
I'm not sure I'd use this for rock climbing or anything life dependent. The cross piece is held in with the tips of the other claws. That is powered by a single O-ring (no replacements included). I would definitely use this for playing around in the yard, or trying to snag a branch to pull down etc. but that's it.The rest of the unis feels nice and is sturdily held together. I attached a length of paracord with a bowline knot and will add this to my yard tool shed.

Fun little toy
I saw this on social media so I got it just for fun. It's a lot tinier in person, or maybe I just got a tiny version. It's basically a couple sheet metal pieces held together by screws, kind of like the scissoring extending tongs or the clothes drying rack. The metal is decently thick, but it's in no way heavy duty and is totally only for fun and not practical load bearing applications. The elastic tension is from an O-ring around the stem of the grappling hook, which keeps the scissors closed quite firmly. You won't be able to drop it down and automatically hook onto a loop or keychain like the videos on social media, as it just won't open unless you firmly press it against the loop. Gravity hook is a bit of an overstatement. However, if you slide the O-ring up to the D-ring so that almost no tension is applied, then you can kind of get it to easily open just from its weight and gravity, although it also doesn't close by itself half the time due to the bolts applying a bit of friction. It's a fun little desk toy though, so no complaints here.

Awesome little keychain
This is an awesome little keychain size grappling hook. You could literally just use it as a keychain or decoration, or you might even find a use for it while camping or in the outdoors. Same Construction as the larger ones, just Mini. Works on the same principles as the larger ones, and grappling hook mode or as a gravity hook. Very cool though, especially for the price, everyone should have one. It is the perfect size for paracord, or even slightly larger ropes. Could be the perfect tool for certain situations, and at the price why not have it on hand. It is small enough to forget you have until you need it. Overall, it's a really cool product, at a great price, actually really well made for being so tiny. Highly recommended.

Almost lives up to its billing
As a novelty it is great. The description says it is "designed to support nearly 200 lbs". I would have a really hard time trusting my life to it in an emergency situation. I weigh 185. I think I'll use it as a really cool bottle opener. As far as rock climbing, survival, and emergency situations I think I'll pass.

Smaller than you would expect
This is going in my prepping equipment and I think it would be handy to throw out and drag something towards you.It doesn't work for just dropping it over something and hooking it.
