Packs a punch
I needed a vacuum that wasn't as heavy and bulky as my old Eureka EasyClean Handheld 71B that I bought almost a decade ago from Amazon. It's "lightweight" but it was still rather unwieldy to use and the long cord length was irritating. Some of you may like it, but I don't. I also was getting tired of buying cans of compressed air. Friend of mine recommended XPower's A-2 Airrow, but I also wanted something small and compact that can vacuum small spaces. That's when I found this A-5 model. The A-5 is basically the A-2 but with vacuuming capability and higher horsepower. In direct response to a review from August 2018 about the instructions, I did not have much difficulty interpreting them. I knew the default mode of the thing was blower, and that "Vacuum Operation" had to be followed if you wanted to put it in vacuum mode. Took maybe 5 minutes at most to figure out in order to configure for that mode you have to pull the foam filter and the tiny center-cross piece (comes right off, no screwing/unscrewing required). The vacuum is powerful - it picks up things this old Eureka can't and is perfect for vacuuming nooks and crannys your big upright vacuum or even that handvac can't reach with its attachments. Its sheer portability is the best part. I personally like the cord being 5' - I hate managing long cords as I'll be next to a power source anyway when I'm using this on my machine. Comes with a good number of attachments, and the hose is reasonably sized for a short job. The key here is to think of this as like a handvac with a hose attachment rather than a traditional giant vacuum with a hose that is 15' long like another review was complaining about. With that cleared up, on setting I just like the Airrow the output CFM of the thing is insane. It was spinning my case fans like crazy and it was basically like a hurricane rampaging through my case throwing around all these dust bunnies. The vacuum provides enough suction to pick up little bits and pieces a handvac would miss. And yes, this thing is bloody loud, and its initial start will have a funky odor (it lasts for maybe 1 or 2 seconds before it dissipates). Comes with a spiffy nylon bag to hold all your attachments in the zipper and the hose in the big pocket in the back when not in use. Very glad that I got this, I will never have to buy a can of compressed air again.

Best air duster available
Purchased XPOWER A-5 Electric Air Duster for cleaning gaming desktops, laptops, servers, and everything electronic as the price of canned air has SKY ROCKETED!!!! While nothing compares to the pressure of canned air, the XPower A-5 is the best electric duster I have used up to this point. In blower mode, the A-5 has plenty of power to remove the vast majority of dust. Works well as both a vacuum and blower and comes with plenty of attachments plus a handy storage bag. The only real downside to the APower A-5 is how hot it gets while running on the high setting; however, this can be alleviated by running the blower on low or on high for short intervals. Do not fall for the "high power, high velocity" battery operated dusters as they are complete junk. Skip the headache and buy the XPower A-5. You won't be disappointed!

So Far So Good
I unboxed it this morning to get this review written. Here's the short version: Pros (in order of importance to this gal): High air pressure Compact Lightweight Portable Numerous attachments for vacuuming and blowing Parts are simple and easy to insert and remove Extra filters of each type (Yes!) Cons (same order as Pros): Short cord Blown air is hot Blowing instructions need refinement Hose position has to be swapped for vacuuming or blowing Filters have to be removed or added for vacuuming or blowing Hose is troublesome to store The longer version for those who like more detail. The instructions for the vacuum have their own section and are thorough. The instructions for the blower are kind of tossed into the general instructions. Not a deal breaker, but having a different section for the vacuum and not for the blower piqued my technical writing urge to edit the booklet. A simple change from "Operation" to "Air Blower Operation" would fix that, and number 1 is to plug the unit in. That instruction should be moved to After the unit is prepped for air blowing - best to remove and add things while the unit is unplugged. Read the instructions in reverse and it's good. Fortunately there is a diagram of the unit with labels for each piece and part as well as a set of cleaning instructions with diagrams picturing each filter. With those diagrams it was easy enough to decipher the air blowing instructions and I only doubt my set up because the air is so warm. The air coming out is about the equivalent of a hair dryer set on normal. Not a great thing for computer parts, which should be kept at low temps; however, a computer Should be off when cleaning it out. The power cord is maybe 24" long so an extension cord may be needed. We take our computers outside for cleanings so we'll definitely need an extension. The hose is also about 24" and it has a connection that stays in place while the hose is being screwed in so the hose doesn't flop all over the place - excellent feature. A tie of some sort would have been good to include in the package to keep it together for storage. It's separate from the machine because you'll have to attach it to the front for blowing and the back for vacuuming. It doesn't coil up, which is helpful for the purpose of vacuuming or blowing, but a detriment when it comes to storage. Storage - I'm unsure if the bag is intended to house the hose or the unit. The instruction booklet indicates, "The provided black bag is used to pack the nozzles, excluding the electric duster." However, there are a few errors throughout the booklet (do not vacuum the water) so I'm not entirely sure it didn't mean to say Including. The bag is Quite large for just nozzles. The nozzles are fantastic. I was able to get into nooks and crannies that have been collecting dust for ages and the nastiness came right on out. I can't wait to get out there and tackle my car! Everything is easy to remove and put back in, even with my arthritic hands. The unit has a carrying handle and the cord wraps around that. The hose is the only awkward thing about it. It's interesting how exciting it was to find an additional set of filters - no one does that! This means while one set is drying, the work can continue. Or, if you have a users who will be sharing this who Never clean the filters (as I do), you can have "Mine" and "Theirs" filters. :D All-in-all the cons are minor inconveniences, save for the cord. The cord is a sticking point for me. I understand it should be short to keep the unit's bulk to a minimum, but it's going to be a pain to go get the extension cord each time I need to use this. Never having to pay for another freezing can of air that's lost pressure, though, supersedes that inconvenience.

As advertised
Exactly as advertised, this vacuum is great for replacing canned air, and as a bonus of course, it can blow dry or act as a dust vacuum. Pros: - Way more powerful than canned air. It will pay for itself very quickly. - Bag is more than adequate to clean half a dozen computers before emptying, though, I like to maintain my equipment and so I clean the bag after every use. - The bag seems much more durable than I expected from the pictures and I'm not worried about frequent or many washes. - It comes with replacement bag and filters and I did not see the spare parts even advertised when I bought this, so that was a nice surprise. - If you're trying to dry components, the air does get a bit warm pretty quickly. Just remember that hot air over electronics can cause static electricity build up and to be careful. This vacuum does advertise itself as an electronics cleaner, but that's irrelevant when it comes to basic physics. The blower power can easily spew rubbing alcohol or other liquids out of even the tiniest microchips and CPU sockets on motherboards. - Compact, powerful and at a great price. Cons: - The attachment system leaves a bit to be desired, especially with the small attachments and it wasn't completely obvious how to use them. One of the smaller straw-like attachments needs to almost be forced to comply around the male end to slip on. I did not have any issues with attachments blowing off the end from air pressure or anything flimsy like that. - Motor gets hot quickly. I don't know about the longevity of this product, but using it for long periods of time isn't something I would recommend. Overall I would buy this again and recommend it. I use it in conjunction with WD-40 Specialist Contact Cleaner.

Perfect, works better than advertised
This thing has power and blows cool air. Easy to use, it is perfect for what I needed, namely delicate cleaning of dust. The hose is sturdy, which means there is no compact storage, but I would rather have the sturdiness. This thing could probably blow a golf-ball through a garden hose!

it works OK - but hard to use
I bought this primarily for cleaning areas at the back of my desk and dresser where dust accumulates. Unfortunately, I found that the negatives outnumbered the positives. Also, it's default mode is for use as a blower (which I really don't need); some minor disassembly is required to convert it to a vacuum cleaner and you will be on your own trying to figure out how to re-attach the very stiff hose to the back end for use as a vacuum. And, as another reviewer noted, disregard the instructions to plug in the power cord first. Plug it in only after you have every thing set up and ready to go. Positives: fairly compact good blower power bag is easy to get to and clean/exchange Negatives: 1. noisy - I mean really noisy 2. short power cord - you will probably need an extension cord to use this 3. attachments fit extremely tight to the hose - you'll need to twist and put some oomph into it 4. very stiff hose - any movement of the hose and the machine will be flopping around on the floor 5. the hose is so stiff, it is almost impossible to store it in the included storage bag 6. baffling instructions on how to convert this from a blower to a vacuum cleaner - you're on your own to figure it out. Hint: don't unscrew the large ring that holds the assembly to the power unit. Pinch the filter with your thumb and forefinger and pull it out. Remove the small plastic gizmo in the center of the adapter and then you'll see where to attach the hose. 7. for such a noisy machine, the vacuum power is pretty weak. Much of the dust is simply picked up on the brush bristles and then you need to clean them when you're done.

Dont Even Go There...Vacuum NOT
Very lightly used as a blower since purchase (2022) needed to go vacuum. Absolutely impossible to remove "crossed cover" piece. Tried every suggestion: soapy water drop, squeeze and turn, etc. etc. No joy and no stars.

Powerful
The other reviews saying that it gets warm aren't wrong, it heats up very quickly. However, it's powerful enough that you're not going to need to have it on for very long, unless you're planning to blow all the dust out of a room or something. It has served well to clean the dust out of keyboards, and computer cases quickly and effectively. *Use it for these purposes at your own risk, as I'm sure some devices will have warnings against using compressed air or similar to clean them.
