A little floaty, but a lot of fun
A little lighter than my preferences, it plays solid and stable. What's in the box: 10 strings, bearing puller, responsive(lubed up) bearing, glove and zippered case. While I am liking these zippered cases, they take up too much storage space, yet they are ideal for grabbing a yoyo, throwing it in your bag and head out the door.Colorway: I chose the red/black/silver. It is a splash, maybe with a touch of of acid wash? The texture is very light. It's enough to make grinds good yet the color is still reasonably vibrant, although the colors do look great. The lines are clean and simple. There is a tiny undercut in the area before the inner walls transition to the angle prior to the reponse pad.Play: The yoyo has a bit more emphasis on the rims but otherwise seem more "balanced" more weight distributed throughout the rest of the body. The yoyo is stable but can be knocked off axis in sloppy play little by little so be prepared to issue corrections here and there. DNA compatible, not ideal for horizontal but can do it. Yoyo does not want to correct to full horizontal on IRG grinds, which is something I like since I like to do IRG thumb grinds. The yoyo does fairly well when pushed fast, likes to play at a mid-fast speed, but can go godspeed if you're clean. Spinning is just fantastic as the bearing seems to be high quality and gave me no indications of it being bad during initial testing. For beginners, this will simply allow the yoyo to spin a long time, with a good throw. I'd even go as far as to say this is a competition-grade yoyo. While it seems oriented for 1A, I see it being good for 5A as well.Am issue I had was that this string, which I've seen with other yoyos lately, is very soft and lacks the stiffness I want for slacks and lacerations, which is fine for beginners because they don't do those tricks, and advanced players are going to put on a string of their choosing anyways. If you're a beginner, the 10 included strings are enough to get you started while you go and buy a 100-pack of string. The other issue I had was that the response pad on this one was not very grippy. If you want long spins, this is good, but when it comes to binding back, I had to throw more string into the gap. Dave Bind was good. Ann Bind, sky bind and some other higher-risk binds were hit or miss. This is easily resolved by replacing the stock pads with any 19mm OD slim pad(YYF standard) or flowable silicone(what I prefer to use). Again, for advanced players, response pad swaps aren't a big deal as we're used to making these yoyos "our own". For new players, a better string alone will improve the experience as well as learn best bind technique as this yoyo stock with included strings really forces the issue. Since I'm keeping things stock for the evaluation, you know what you're getting as-is. Seriously, I'm going to take a bunch of my new yoyos, yank all the pads and put flowable silicone in them and then put in better strings and these will really open way up and perform even better. This already plays good, but with standard upgrades... it's gonna be awesome. Even if you choose to go with pads instead of flowable, it will be a good upgrade paired with your preferred string. Do be aware, I have taken very expensive yoyos, yanked out the stock pads before even playing them and installed flowable silicone. In general, would this be a good first yoyo? No. start a little lower with something more beginner friendly. Use this as a really affordable "step-up" fora first metal and start on unresponsive play. While you can start with this for responsive play with the lubed flat bearing, the wide gap of the full spec bearing will make responsive play just a touch more fussy. This can be a good EDC yoyo as well thanks to the included zipper case. Competition sets are no problem because you can buy 3 or more for a really reasonable price, which is really a bank-account saver. I remember when metals were routinely $85 or more, with most of the "desired" ones being $135+, so a competition set would often approach $400. Now with yoyos like this, $75 or so can get you everything you need for your hardware(yoyos), then supply your own software(response pads and strings) and you're ready to go.This also comes in multiple attractive colorways. I may need to pick up another one or more in another colorway, the colorways are that good and this yoyo does play good enough for me to consider more. At the price, maybe more than just 1 more may come into my collection. This is one of the few times where I like all of the available colorways, although some do stand out more to my eyes.

Very comfortable and familiar shape
This YoyoStudio is pretty cool. It's pretty rim weighted so it's very stable, but also plays very slightly heavier on string. The wing shape of the yoyo is very familiar and reminiscent of a popular classic yoyo. You can essentially do any tricks with this all arounder design. There's no centered fingerspin thing, but the hub makes it easy to off center spin. Fun yoyo, at a good price.

Wide gap, and less responsive than I'd like
This yoyo comes packaged very nicely, with a hard carrying case, glove, alternate bearing, and extra strings. For string tricks, this may be a decent option, provided you don't need the yoyo to consistently return, especially with the extra-wide gap and unresponsive bearing. For loops, the yoyo is pretty good and decently weighted. I mostly prefer sleeper tricks, however, and even with the responsive bearing in, the yoyo has a really hard time coming back from sleeping. It may frustrate some beginners, and old hats like me that grew up with yoyos in the 90s may be underwhelmed, but it's still a decent starter kit. I just wish there were rubber pads to make the yoyo more responsive. The string is also long by default, so you may need to trim it (from the knot end) if you're shorter.

This yoyo is great, my son and husband love it
The yoyo itself is amazing, professional quality in my opinion. My husband and my teen son just love playing with it and seeing what they can do with it. It’s really cool when you turn out the lights and put on the blue light, it makes the strings look like it’s glowing. Very cool. It came with a nice protective case, a special glove and tons of string. I love the color I got too but there were so many other options.

Fantastic Product
I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend who used to love yo-yos. He was very good at tricks. He was very excited when he opened it. He said the yo-yo is expertly crafted. That the edges are so smooth and that the bearings are incredible. Very high quality. Best yo-yo he has ever had. I am very happy with it, and it is easy to use and the responsive bearing is just that...responsive.
