The snap ring in the hub of a Ford F350 is particularly difficult to get out and re-install. I truly question the engineering associated with this hub design. That being said, even though I only needed these pliers for a few minutes....it is because of these pliers that I only needed them a few minutes. It was a bear before and I even bent up a few pair trying to make it work.I would recommend this purchase to anyone.

After going through several pairs of Lang reversible, ratcheting, snap ring pliers (the reversing switch can bind up and become damaged if you have a lot of tension on the tool when a snap ring pops off), I decided to move away from the all-in-one style of pliers. These Knipex pliers are a night and day difference from the Lang pliers. The angle of the pins hold the snap rings very securely. With the Lang pliers, snap rings would constantly pop off the pliers and zing across the room (which eventually causes the switch to fail) but with the Knipex pliers, you can wave the pliers around and bump the ring against shafts/housings and it stays securely in place on the pliers. I also find it's easier to get the rings seated in their grooves without the ratcheting feature like on the Langs because you don't have to try to squeeze the pliers to take tension off the ratchet lock and then release the lock with one hand while keeping the snap ring lined up with the groove with the other hand. With the Knipex pliers, it's very simple; just get the snap ring lined up with the groove and release the pliers. Knipex knows how to build pliers that last. These are not my first Knipex pliers and they certainly won't be my last.

Bought these to remove the snap ring on a Ford f-350 front axle. The cheaper snap ring pliers just broke, bought a stronger set but was to big to fit and expand in the limited space between the spline and hub. These pliers worked perfect, and are very strong.

I have been a professional technician for over 10 years now and discovering Knipex was the best thing that has ever happened to me. All premier tool brands Snap on, Matco, Mac, Armstrong..... Have certain products that out perform the competition but when it comes to pliers Knipex out performs all of them. These snap ring pliers are the strongest, precision made, & they will not flex. Sure they do not switch from internal to external but once you have them in your hand with the biggest most stubborn grease and dirt covered snap ring clenched snugly on the end of them you will want to buy every style they have ever made!

I finally got the chance to use this tool for the snap ring on the wheel hub for ford f250 and 350s. I never experienced taking one off without this tool so I can't tell you how much easier it is. I can say it only took about 30 seconds for removal of snap ring and installation.

Purchased these specifically for the snap ring in my 05 F250 hub assembly... After trying 3 other pairs of snap ring pliars (and spending 3 hours messing with all of them) that didn't work because they were either too short handled or to wide to fit into the hub, I put everything back together and ordered these. 2 days later I tore it all back apart and spent about 25 seconds getting that snap ring out. Wish I knew that the first time I tore the frond end apart.They feel stout, theyre long than anything I've found at a big box store, and narrower.
