Good things do come in small packages!
Nice little winch, I've got bigger winches like Tirfor etc but just wanted a little cable winch for small tasks like table lifts and small pulling jobs, this is perfect and I'll find many more uses I'm sure especially with the addition of a snatch block and or pully/s. Nicely made and a very handy piece of kit.

Great piece of kit also a great company to buy from
Given a 7 day delivery window I was well impressed even giddy with excitement to receive my order the day after ordering now to the even better part the winches were better than expected I have fitted them both and are now in use all in all a good day shopping would definitely recommend.

Washing line winch
Brilliant for hoisting up our heavy washing line. Perhaps not a conventional use, but it does this job well.

Product is great but the UPS delivery is a mistake
Good product. Great for the price unfortunately UPS is a really bad choice of courier. Otherwise I'd have given a 5* review.

Worked Very Well for its Price
I needed to erect a 2" VersaTube carport with 24' wide spans that were over 12' at the peak and then pull the 3' x 20' steel roofing sheets (that were a challenge just to lift and move around at ground level without help) onto those frames by myself (without a helper). I designed a 15' folding jib crane around a steel handcart and used this Vevor winch bolted to the triple center post, just below the pivot point. The winch did an outstanding job! I had the winch cable fed through enclosed pulleys and channels so the cable pull was smooth and reliable. The locking mechanism was great, as it allowed me to lock the 5-pc 24' sloping roof span frames at a height just right to climb a step ladder and guide the outer corners onto their mating upright vertical side posts, and then slowly crank them down until they interlocked and could be screw-secured. Once these heavy frames were all in place, I was able to employ the included hook from the winch cable to a 3" C-clamp centered on the edge of a 20' roof sheet and winch it up along the vertical frame and pull them over onto the top. This worked much better than just a simply hand-operated pulley alone or a ratchet "come-along" would have in its place. The only issue I had was that the cable had a habit of wanting to 'corkscrew' once the load was off and the line was slack. So if let out enough cable to connect to something and had not yet begun to raise the load, the cable would expand on the spool. Using gloves, I had to pinch the loose cable between finger and thumb while cranking the pulley to try to guide the cable and retain tension to get it to thread somewhat evenly across the width of the spool. The cable is very stiff and springy. Once curled around the spool it takes on a curved shape and tends to resist wanting to take on the tight radius required to wind it back around the drum without sufficient tension on it. Perhaps adding a pinch roller might have helped some, but it will still require guiding the cable onto the spool by hand even under tension, or it will simply find one spot and wrap itself unevenly there until the cable extends beyond the boundary of the spool and impedes rotation. Still, it wasn't a huge issue. I simply added a carabiner-ended bungee between the hook on the cable and secured it so that it would still have some tension as I got close enough to the lift point on my load to remove it and connect directly to the hook.

Straight forward manual hand crank
Pretty standard boat winch. Decent quality. Would have liked a cleat to anchor cable but the set up worked fine for my purpose. If you want to make it a ' left handed ' winch , it will need a small hole drilled for a spring.
