Why is Archer Mini rated 405 lumens when similar lights claim 1,000 or more?

405 is the ANSI FL1 verified figure - measured output, not a peak number held for a few seconds. The TIR lens turns it into a smooth 285ft beam with no darkrings. Compare verified throw and runtime, not headline lumens.

How do I charge it? Does it need a proprietary dock or a magnetic puck?

Neither. A hidden USB-C port takes any USB-C cable you already own - no dock,no magnetic puck, no vendor lock-in. A full charge delivers 7.5 hours of runtime. Charging takes about 1.5–2 hours from empty.

Is it genuinely waterproof, and will it survive being dropped?

Yes to both. The aluminum alloy body is rated IPX8 and drop tested to 1.5m.Lockout mode stops the tail switch waking up inside a bag, so it will not drain itself between uses.

How small is it really, and how does the clip carry?

3.27 inches and 1.2oz - shorter than most pens. The dual-direction clip grips a shirt pocket, hat brim or pack strap, so it works hands-free for inspection, repair and night rounds. Built for EDC, outdoor and tactical carry.

Should I buy the single or the 2-pack?

Take the 2-pack if you want one at the bench and one in the vehicle, or one to pass to a family member. Identical light in both - same 405 ANSI FL1 lumens, same IPX8 body. The single is right if you only need one carry light.
