Logan's Run: Last Day

Okay-ish - in some ways worse in some ways better - appears to be a "Third" version of events
It is just about "okay" having read the book, seen the film and the TV series (and spin off comic strip). Some bits are better like trying to explain the hand crystals, some bits just completely go off on their own like "How did all this start" and some bits were worse like you actually very quickly realised there must be other Graphic Novels in the series..... or worse there isn't ... just big gaps !!Not annoyed at reading it .... but I'll never read / need to read it again

superb introduction the this story for a new generation.
This is great value, artwork is top notch, the story boarding clever and well paced. Top stuff. recommended highly !! Now I must get my hands on the novel too !!

Disappointing and the ending rather weak
A bit disappointing. On the plus side, the book was good at creating an atmosphere of doom, making good use of the fact that the age of compulsory euthanasia was 21 as opposed to 30 in the film. However, the explanation for the rise of this perverted society is unconvincing and the ending I thought rather lame. I didn't care for the author's writing style either. This is one case where the film is definitely better in my view.

More a comic book than a novel.
I was hoping to add to my growing collection of sci-fi novels, but this comic book is going straight down the charity shop, instead. If you're looking for a novel format, you won't find it here. This appears to be nothing more than a series of comic strips. You could call it a graphic novel if you want to be generous. But it's still a glorified comic, ok if your into comics, I was looking forward to reading the novel, to see the difference between the film and novel, like "Do androids dream of electric sheep, aka Blade Runner. But instead i was very disappointed...

Logans Run
Excellent book, will buy the trilogy as I want to know what happens next. The film has always been a favourite of mines but the book is more than the film, more graphic, grittier and darker than the film.

Misleading description
Maybe I should have read the product description more carefully, but no where in it does it state that this is a GRAPHIC novel. Now I have no problem with graphic novels, I own several, but I wanted to read the original written form, not a storyboard version. Please be more careful with your descriptions in future. That said the artwork is extremely good and the volume well produced.

Great book - poor presentation!
I have owned my paperback version of Logan's Run for over a decade and decided it was time to buy a hardback version so that I could (in theory) keep it forever. This particular edition is amateur at best. The printing quality looks like the text has been scanned in from a paperback version, enlarged and then printed out a fresh.Overall, the story is still the delight it has always been but the presentation is just awful. If you want to buy a hardback version of this book buy a different one!
