Top notch material
John presents Paganism in a massively exploratory look. 5 star material here. He weaves a great web of data to keep the reader coming back for more.

A must have for anyone.
The Path of Paganism: An Experience-Based Guide to Modern Pagan Practice by John Beckett is one of the finest books on Paganism I have ever read. I know that this sounds like Hyperbole but there is much to distinguish this book from the numerous other books I have read on Paganism. (And all from this publisher)I want to mention Llewellyn because for many years they were the publishers of many pithy works concerning the Pagan Path. Sometimes the books were very pithy and not worth anyone’s time. In this case, they have made quite a departure and have garnered something that should be moved from the new age/occult section to the religion section. No nonsense, and very clear – this books is what I wish I would have read when I first started my pagan path. The writing is ‘to the point” and does not waste your time with any excess text.I have often looked for works that I can give to non-pagan relatives so that they might be able to clearly have Paganism defined for them. This book is the book that I would put in my Library and know it is an excellent resource for students who want to get an example of the beliefs of the Pagan path. While there are some great works on paganism (Drawing Down the Moon is one such example) this book particularly has the distinction of being easy to read, with a clear format and a language that can be read by anyone -without extraneous exclusive jargon. If you want to read a book on the path that is refreshing and also enlightening, this is the one you should choose. It also would be a welcome addition to any private Library that wants to have a definitive work that can explain Paganism to others.

Excellent Resource For Those With Interest In Modern Paganism
I found the Path of Paganism the perfect resource for me as I have had a deep interest in Paganism for a long time. It is fairly easy to read and provides a simple path beginning with historical background, defining what it means to be pagan and what opportunities are available to those walking this path. It is not a hard sell of a belief system, but rather a well structured guide that allows the reader to make choices. Much of what was discussed confirmed and supported many of my own beliefs which is very reassuring. At the same time I was given a glimpse of new information that will help me on my spiritual journey. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a new spiritual life as the guidance it offers is invaluable. You may find that this path may not be for you or still you might experience a whole new way at exploring your spiritual life.

A thoughtful guide to the path of paganism
Within each of my diverse fields of interest there are certain people I consider my go-to sources. When it comes to paganism in general, and druidry in particular, John Beckett is at the top of that list. He combines a bias for the factual from his technical background with an appreciation for the lore and tradition of his chosen path. John refuses to discount his personal experience (which is both an ethically and a scientifically sound position, I might note), but remains forthright about the possibility that his experience might not be ours, and that he might in fact be wrong. John writes not as a guru, but as a guide to the path he is traveling and his experiences on it.John Beckett is a deep thinker and an insightful writer, and "The Path of Paganism" is an excellent introduction to his work. I hope it is the first of many books from him.

I agree with another review that said that this book should be in the religion section of the bookstore. it is one of the best books on the subjectif not thee best that I have ever read. This is the book I would want non-pagans to read first, It is the first impression I would want people to have.It is very intelligent and asks questions that will challenge you and make you think. I would have every pagan read it. I would especially have every pagan group read it and discuss it together. The chapter on magic should be required reading for every beginner to the path. This is a very important book for the pagan community. I hope it wins many awards because it deserves them.

A Good Introduction to Paganism
I've been in a very unstable spiritual place for a while, breaking out of the religion that I was raised in to something that is more along my own beliefs. This book is my first printed introduction to Paganism, and it feels safe and familiar. It gives a good overview on Paganism itself, as well as various aspects involved. It doesn't go too in depth on anything, but provides a good amount of information.

Excellent introduction to modern Paganism
Beckett has written an excellent general introduction on modern Paganism. He approaches this very broad subject from his personal standpoint as a Druid, but covers subjects in a way that inspires the reader to think about fundamental questions on how one would approach religious issues and problems. The book is philosophical, inspiring, ethically sound, and a good primer on what it means to be a modern pagan for someone new to the movement (hence my interest). Beckett's blog, "Under the Ancient Oaks", covers similar material and is an excellent read as well.

Good book, dense read
This book has some good points, but I find it to be very... dense.. in the way that I couldn’t find myself able to read more than about 10-20 pages before needing a break or going to read a different book. This is one of the very few books in my library that I’ve had to do this with. Scott Cunningham was another.

An excellent experience based guide on Pagan practice
The Path of Paganism is an excellent book on Paganism and it was a pleasure reading it. John Beckett strikes a good balance between the spiritual and the mundane and offers great insight into how to expand, develop and maintain your focus on which ever path in Paganism you take. He offers advice on how to have a meaningful pagan practice and relationships with the gods, spirits and ancestors in a very rounded, unbiased, grounded down to earth fashion which I found refreshing. Highly recommended!

Excellent, clear guidebook
Good, clear book setting out what paganism is and can be. Excellent for newcomers to paganism, or those seeking to understand the beliefs, but also much of interest to the long-time practitioner. An thoughtful read.
