An excellent guide to strategic thinking and execution in the age of digital transformation.
In this ambitious and thought-provoking book, the authors apply years of experience and academic rigor to strategy development in an age of exponential innovation and disruption. While the focus is on Industry 4.0, many of the concepts and practical tools are applicable to every industry. The content provides historical context on the evolution of technology in the industrial space, as well as an extensive framework of 77 megatrends that impact all aspects of our society, grouped into four categories - Economy, Environment, Technology and Ideology. As a consultant to manufacturing companies embarking on digital transformation I found this helpful in understanding outside influences that need to be considered when developing a long-term strategy. What I really appreciate, however, is the large library of detailed process descriptions and templates that can be used to actually develop and execute on the right strategy. This is not a book for people that are looking for a warmed over version of Drucker or de Bono. The format and writing style are designed to change the way you are thinking about strategy, to be more "out-of-the-box" and recognize that the rate of disruption requires a different approach.

If strategy books were to have an epoch, iconic and visual catalog
If strategy books were to have an epoch, iconic and visual catalog of real-world ideas and proven processes then Strategy in the age of Disruption would be at the top of my list.Oscar Wilde said it well: “If one cannot enjoy reading a book over and over again, there is no use in reading it at all.”I believe that this is the intent of this book. To read and re-read…Keep it close and use it daily. It is made like a field manual, which to me suggests it is to be used in “the trenches” of strategy. There are even reference markers on the text block portion of the book to assist in finding topics quickly.I highly recommend this book for its ability to present simple visual reference to complex strategic ideas and process. The collaborative work of Henrik Von Scheel, Ciprian Popa, and Joshua Von Scheel is a wonderful weaving of lighthearted humor and serious strategy storytelling. This is a must have for strategic thinkers.

Good concepts, Incomplete work!
The book introduces some good concepts, but leaves much to be desired. Many of the ideas need development. The language needs to be more professional. I think the second edition-if the author considers one- may be better!
