The Johnson family are a very interesting bunch. Larry is a fun loving cat who likes relaxing in mum's dressing gown and dad's slippers and is never too far away from mischief. The children, Emily, Daisy and Jack, learn to love reading books with the help of Mum, Ken the smart parrot and Old Helga, their next door neighbour. Review: Funny and educative - Was actually very funny, I laughed a few times particularly at old Helga and Larry - my little brother loved those characters, very mischievous! The pictures were hilarious too. I found the bit about Old Helga rushing to the library to report the partying cats to Ken the parrot in her dressing gown, bedroom slippers, with curlers in her hair very funny. Will recommend this book for a good read and humour. I was also surprised that it actually made slight references to current affairs and British classics such as Roald Dahl etc, so it was very educational at the same time. Funny images, brother liked it, good book, would have given it 4 and a(1/2) if I knew how! Review: A good read - it teaches the importance of books and reading. It is quite a funny book and the illustrations are amusing. A good read for children and parents.
