Doro 1880 4G unlocked basic bar mobile phone for seniors with loud and clear sound, large buttons, assistance button and USB C charging with cradle. [UK and Irish version] (Red)

Bought for my elderly mum who is in her 90's and has had a similar Doro phone for many years which she was very familiar with and enjoyed using. There was nothing wrong with the old phone but the 2G service is being discontinued and she needed to upgrade so this was the closest replacement I could find.I can see it has a bigger, better screen, simple function buttons, clear simple menu system and is very easy to operate and being just a few mm larger than her old one is just as easy for her to hold but she complains because it is slightly bigger and possibly a couple of grams heavier ! Of course she will get used to it as she uses it more often. I think the bigger size is actually an advantage for her but time will tell.She has already managed to send me a photo of her knees via SMS so she is trying to figure it out ! She has never had a camera phone before either so that's a novelty for her.She would have liked the ring tone to be a little louder because she likes to keep it in a protective pouch in her bag and she would like the keypad tone to be a little louder because that's what she is used to but I have set it to 'Hearing Aid Compatibility' which should help a lot when in use.I searched a fair bit for phones with decent battery life but couldn't find anything that was suitable with better than 7 day capacity, her old phone lasted longer than that but even that wasn't enough sometimes, she has a landline so forgets about her mobile most of the time.For the price I think it's reasonable considering it's not her main phone and it is very easy to use, it has everything she could need and in time she will get used to it, unfortunately she misses her old one but this is the ideal replacement.

Straightforward easy to operate mobile. Nice and clear screen. Would have given 5 stars if the text was easier to use but if like me you use capital letters to begin a new sentence its quite fiddly to bring up the menu each time you've used it and go back to lower-case. Other than that niggle its a nice replacement for the fiddly little mobile I used to use.

Great little phone - so easy to use with large screen and buttons and simple operating system. Ideal for the non smart phone generation!

Like the clear instructions for set up. Large screen with easy to use keypad and all the features you require of a mobile phone when you don't need the Internet. Louder the average volume great for people who are hearing impaired with integration to hearing aids.Didn't like the small print instruction leaflet which could be challenging for target user. SIM card very fiddly to insert.However overall highly recommend this as a basic no nonsense mobile

I'm sending it back. It supposed to be simple, not hackable, private phone - thanks to its simplicity. Yet it has internet and bluetooth + voice recorder -> god knows for what...as you can't use internet, and can't imagine listening to music from it via bluetooth

Bought for elderly parent to replace an older 2G Doro model which always had hit and miss phone signal due to location. Read that 2G is being phased out so bought this. Now receive a healthy phone signal on 4G with the same provider. With BT phasing out landlines but charging for routers to run digital phones this is the only phone she will now need. Same basic functions as her old Doro which she is familiar with so really pleased with this cost effective mobile phone with the all important emergency button which worked well on the old model so should be exactly the same on this.

Updating from the Doro 1370 (2G) to 1880 4G. Calls are definitely clearer, and go louder I think, but apart from that it’s pretty much the same phone. Ability to update software over air without internet (check you have enough call credit though) is new. Came with cradle and UK compatible wall/power plug for charging, which I’m happy about. Looks nice in red. Vodafone supplied a new micro SIM for 4G and the swap-over (apart from fiddly SIM insertion) was fuss free. Definitely recommended if you’re after a basic, easy to use phone and not fussed about internet connection.
