I highly recommend getting this for around the door frame as well as on the staircase landing. I have two German Shepherds who insist on running up and down the carpeted stairs, and their nails catch the first steps and landing. This works perfectly and saves my carpeted! Now I won’t need to remove the carpet! I have a runner rug over part of this and you can not see it. This brand was more expensive than some others but, the quality makes up for it ten fold!!

It's thick and sturdy. The design allows a good grip to the carpet. It can be use as chair mat to carpet floor.

The plastic did not hold in place as soon as it was stepped on.

Smaller than expected, but does exactly what i want it to do, to protect carpet from getting the dirty look at threshold.

This has been amazing at keeping the dog from making the carpet hole larger. I wish we had known about it earlier, preventing the dog from making the hole in the first place. We ended up getting a second one for another room.
