No difficult math to figure out that rating of the tool in addition to quick and pleasent customer service. Tool works fantastic it comes with punched 2 but I'm going through layers of extreme gorilla tape and trex tape the type you can't tear only cut no effort no need to use the included punches for what I am using it for I can't imagine anything imyou would have to use the punches for maybe thick leather. Then I lost bottom half of the 12mm die set out of my own disorganization and contacted them to set where I could order replacement to my surprise they told me they asked for my address and they were just sent me a now one and 3 days later when it arrived I open it and surprise a whole kit!! I would have just expected a company just to say they didn't sell replacement parts if they didn't have any and I couldn't have really complained about anything since it was my fault (except maybe to say they didn't sell replacement parts but it wouldn't be fair to rate the tool performance based on that) phenomexcillewsome!!

Works perfectly, solid, precise. Vendor was great in providing support (and a replacement) when I contacted for help.In short: I used it with a single grommet size for a few months after buying it - with the die it came assembled with. When I tried to change the die, the hex screw was so tight I could not release it with all my strength, despite trying with a longer allen key. It looked like the paint had joined the screw? hard to describe. I resorted to trying a power tool and WD40, but this only resulted in a stripped head. I eventually gave up, and contacted the seller.Within a week, they sent me a new tool! Which was pretty amazing!

I needed to add some grommets to a tarp I have over a trailer. Purchased this kit and it did the job nicely.The only recommendation I have is to use the punch to make a hole before pressing the grommet together. I tried using the punch to make the hole when pressing the grommet but the two pieces did not want to line up correctly.Pictures show the tarp with the hole, then with the two pieces in place, and after pressing. All 20 grommets that I added turned out nicely.One bit of info- the center of the hole for the grommets need to be an inch or less from the edge otherwise the material will bunch up against the tool.

Installed about 20 grommets in standard plastic tarp - some double thick folds at corners. Work nicely, but require a lot of hand strength to fully compress. A bit more leverage would make them perfect - the grommets themselves are better than many.

Outstanding product. It actually IS heavy duty! As such it takes some strength to work the tool, but it does a beautiful job. The hole cutter also does a good job. One thing of which to be mindful: the jaws are magnetized and if you put the wrong part in the wrong jaw it can be tough to see it and remove it.

First, I can find a way to mess up just about any project. So when I say this tool was easy to change out the size of the grommet and washer and use the tool itself, it really was so easy. I used it on several laminated sheets individually as the sheets were quite large and it turned out great. The quality is top notch. I would highly recommend this product.

A bit of effort is needed to squeeze the tool, the outcome is a nice looking grommet.Good to know that if the material is thin you can skip using the punch, and push the grommet through the material.

My usage was grommets for shade cloth for the garden to protect against the now high uv rays we get. So, thin material double and tripled up.These punched through the folded material and applied the grommets with ease. All in one step. The grommets themselves were a good size and fit easily in the mechanism.Strength in forearm will likely be an advantage and weakness may cause one to struggle and/or grommets to fail. I didn’t think it required exceptional strength, it took some.
