Excellent Customer Service
What really impressed me was the excellent customer service from RainPoint. I have been using their equipment for at least three years and have always found them to be very responsive and helpful in their support in diagnosing any issues I’ve had. Additionally, when there were problems with equipment, they have been very willing to provide replacements. This was the case with my most recent order of a moisture sensor. Having gone through the troubleshooting on my system, which includes three water timers and three moisture sensors, plus a hub, we narrowed the problem to this particular sensor and determined it was defective. I received a replacement within days and am now fully operational again.I will certainly remain loyal to RainPoint for all my future irrigation needs.

Saves a massive amount of water
I originally purchased the Rainpoint WiFi Sprinkler timer because of the wifi in the name, that would enable me to adjust the watering from the comfort of my house etc, as weather and plant size dictated. That worked just fine, but it was still a matter of guesswork, especially if I was away from home and unable to see the results. Then I found there was a moisture meter - this product - that talks to the timer to tell it about the humidity in the soil, obviating excessive water use and the negative impact thereof on the plant and water table. It was a bit awkward to set up, took a few tries to understand the instructions particularly becauseI wanted to change the default base humidity level. The first one I had suffered a technical anomaly after a few days. The support was courteous and immediate, I received a replacement in no time. This product about halved my water use this growing season while keeping my plants healthy.Highly recommended.

Confusing but customer service came through
Its really confusing to set up because you would think you add it as its own device in the app but only after you add the wifi water timer can you connect the sensor by clicking into the wifi water timer, then going to the sensor tab and then flipping the grey soil sensor switch to green (on). Right before you flip the switch though you have to hold the small pairing button down under the battery compartment lid for 5 seconds so the light turns red. Once I did that I had no problems. It immediately then started reading the temperature and soil moisture and surprisingly my lawn was over watered so I think this thing will actually come in handy. That said I wish it was smaller. I dont want to kill a patch of grass on my front lawn to have this installed so I have it installed with most of the body sitting over top of my walkway with the prongs pushed into the grass…its not ideal but it works.

Horrible!!!!!
I bought four of these. Worst money I’ve spent in a while. To say the connectivity goes in and out is an understatement. The even worse part is to reconnect it, you have to pull the sensor out of the ground, remove the four seriously small screws from the back battery door in order to access the reset switch. Pray you don’t lose any of those screws, and then you better have your phone nearby and hope that it connects. Put the battery door back on with screws and then pray the connectivity lasts longer than an hour. Imagine doing this one to three times a week per sensor.

Game Changer
I can not give enough praise to rainpoint for their wifi watering system.. This soil moisture sensor integrated effortlessly with the wifi water timer and the app.. It connected instantly on the first attempt and the connection is solid as a rock.. It has not disconnected one time.. I was able to program it using the app to turn on the garden irrigation system when the soil moisture level falls below 30% and it will turn off the irrigation system when the moisture level reaches 60%.. You can also program it to turn the water timer on and off based on soil temperatures if you'd like.. With the app, you can see real time soil moisture levels and soil temperatures.. It also plots all of that data for the last 10 days onto a nice little line graph.. It works so well that I just ordered a second soil sensor so that I will have one to control each zone of my wifi water timer.. This system changed the game for me.. No more guessing when to water the garden.. With this system the soil in my garden will always stay within the optimal moisture parameters for whatever crops that I'm growing.. I highly recommend this watering system..

The app is really bad, constant disconnect from hub
I bought this to water my veggie garden on vacation automatically. I have the hose valves, so I wanted something that would work with the App. The App could be better. It currently has 4.6 stars on the US Apple App Store with 1000+ reviews, so it's not the worst; it could be more intuitive and somewhat cumbersome to use (typical of Chinese apps, which is a Chinese company). So know that your instructions and app will be in broken English and difficult to follow. If Rachio had this, I would most definitely use Rachio, as all my other watering automation is done through that. Two days into my vacation, one of my sensors stopped responding. The watering still worked, but I had to rely on a sensor on the other side of my garden to fine-tune my schedule. When I got back three weeks later, I rebooted it, and it was working for a week before it crapped out on me again. I replaced the batteries today and had to re-pair them with the app.I also question the accuracy of this. My meter gives me different readings for the soil moisture around each sensor. So far, both sensors have been consistent (with each other), but both read 5-10% higher than the actual soil moisture. The soil temperature is within 1 degree Celsius of the other sensor and my manual soil temperature gauge.
