Good
Have used for locating wires and metal so far. Appears to be good accuracy and the screen gives a clear indication of distance to obstruction.

Reliable Stud Finder with Room for Improvement
The HANMATEK Stud Finder SF1 Wall Scanner is a 4-in-1 electronic stud sensor that promises accurate stud detection. While it performs adequately in most situations, I did encounter some issues when using it on the ceiling. The stud finder features multiple scanning modes, including stud detection, metal detection, AC wire detection, and deep scanning. In most cases, it accurately located studs within walls, making it a useful tool for various projects. However, when attempting to locate studs in the ceiling, I found that the accuracy was inconsistent. The stud finder missed a few studs, which led to frustration and additional time spent trying to find them manually. This limitation may be due to the angle of the scan or the density of materials in the ceiling. On the positive side, the stud finder is compact, lightweight, and easy to handle. The LCD screen provides clear and intuitive readouts, making it user-friendly. The built-in marking feature allows you to note the detected stud locations for convenience during the project. The battery life is decent, providing sufficient power for extended use. The device also includes a handy auto-shutoff feature to preserve battery when not in use, which is a nice touch. Overall, while the HANMATEK Stud Finder SF1 Wall Scanner performs well for most stud detection tasks, it falls short when it comes to accurately detecting studs in the ceiling. For wall applications, it is a reliable tool. However, if you primarily need to locate ceiling studs, you may want to consider alternative options or rely on manual methods for greater accuracy. Pros: Multiple scanning modes for versatility Compact, lightweight, and easy to handle Clear LCD screen for easy readouts Built-in marking feature for convenience Cons: Inconsistent accuracy in locating ceiling studs

Limited detection Depth
I got this for my kitchen new extension to locate cable. I tested it in the rest of the house, and it worked fine. However, the new build is is plaster board over brick with a small cavity between them. As a result, the detector was UNABLE to find any cables. It worked fine in the rest of the house where the cables are just below the surface. But the plaster board plus the cavity sems too much. I've not tested the other settings as I've not needed them yet. Hope you find this useful.

Accurate and Easy to Use
This wall scanner is easy to use and works very well. The display is clear, and it quickly detects wood studs, metal pipes and live wires behind the wall, giving me much more confidence before drilling. It feels solid, is lightweight and fits comfortably in the hand. The different scanning modes are simple to switch between, and the detection is accurate after calibration. A very useful tool for DIY projects and home renovations. It has saved me time and helped avoid drilling in the wrong place. Excellent value for money and highly recommended!

The most useless piece of junk ever made!
This is hands down the most absolute trash device ever created in human history. It is completely untrustworthy and dangerous. โI tested it directly on a live electrical outlet, as well as above and below it. The red alarm went off, but as soon as I placed the palm of my hand on the wall next to the device, the alarm completely stopped and turned from red to green! This is an absolute nightmareโit could easily lead to a deadly accident. โTo make matters worse, I put it on a solid concrete wall and the "wood detected" alarm went off! ๐ On top of that, the electricity alarm keeps beeping pretty much everywhere on the wall. I was able to locate the drywall screws easily using a simple magnet, yet this device failed to detect the wooden stud right behind those exact screws. You are literally safer and better off working without this useless tool. โI have never seen such a pathetic piece of junk in my entire life. I have no choice but to give it one star, but consider yourself warned: buying this is the absolute worst purchase you will ever make in your life

might be cheaper than most, but you still need to know what you're doing
first off, many stud and wire finders, even the high end ones are not 100% fool proof and perfect, you need to know what you are doing. I have used this to check for wires and studs in our new build. checking for studs may not give you a definitive reading, but you can expect another stud to be 40-60cm away. So if the reader thinks the centre is here with 50%, then move along, watch it drop to 0% and then again see if it goes to about the same, about 40-60cm away. Same with wires. The monitor will alert you to wires, but its never 100% certain. Use places where you know for a fact wires will be. like directly around the light switch. This should act as a control so you know what kind of readings to expect. This has served me well in a new build. I cant testify to ho well it works with older houses.

Compared to others - this is as accurate!
I have purchased and compared the Hanmatek stud finder to five of the top brand names stud finders and can tell you - it is just as accurate and as easy to use as any other. Oh and BTW 12 and 15 sensors isn't a solution - yes this beats my Franklin which is priced three times more. The Hanmatek, works superbly and is priced perfectly too. I am more than satisfied and can highly recommend it.
