Kidde Smoke Detector, AA Battery Powered Smoke Alarm, LED Warning Light Indicators

This is a great, sturdy smoke detector for larger rooms in our house. It's easy to install. Batteries included! I'm glad I purchased this! Also, glad there is a smaller version for our smaller rooms. When we moved into this home, the smoke detectors were over 10 years old & they were beeping incessantly because the batteries were low. They left wires dangling from the ceiling when we had to remove them. After installing this a couple of months ago, I can tell this is a quality product! Of course, it's nice to have peace of mind for our safety! I'm purchasing another one for our hallway, and I have recommended this brand of smoke detector to my family members for their homes.

Installing the mounting plate was very straightforward and only took a minute using the included screws. After that, you simply insert the detector into the mount and twist it to secure it in place. It’s a very simple process. While cooking, I accidentally set off the new smoke alarm, which suggests it’s more sensitive than the old one I replaced. Overall, I’m pleased with its performance, as it provides reassurance that it’s working effectively and keeping us safe.

I like these smoke detectors, in general, as they do not react to cooking odors, However, the level of the actual alarm leaves something to be better desired. It is just not up to what level I expect an alarm level to be,.. to get a person's FULL ATTENTION!!...but at least I don't have any more false alarms from cooking vapors any more. THAT is a DEFINITE PLUS for this unit

My old Kiddie kitchen smoke detector had outlived its useful life and was time for replacement. Picked this one out because of brand and price. Could not be more satisfied. Passed the self test straight out of the box, the mounting bracket holes aligned with the old bracket, and was as easy to replace. On a scale of 1-10 this was a 12 in making the replacement easy.
