Good Kit for the Price
For the price, this was a pretty nice kit and well worth the money even just for soldering practice. This kit does NOT produce a 2 foot (or even 2 inch) discharge, if that's what you are looking for you need to spend more on a higher quality kit, but it does produce a small (~1cm) discharge that's visible even in a well lit room. The discharge will jump to nearby objects, light the included neon light or a fluorescent (CFL) bulb from several inches away, produce a small buzzing sound and a nice ozone smell. It also will play audio input to the audio connector via the discharge, it's not loud but is clearly audible.I bought this for my 10 year old son. It's a fairly simple kit that we were able to assemble in an hour or two. Assembly was fairly easy if you have some soldering experience, handiness and a bit of a technical background and can identify the components. The components are tolerant to some extra heat and my son was able to handle soldering most of them. The instructions are not the best but there are not many components and it's fairly intuitive where to place them, just make sure you get the caps, LEDs and transistors in the correct orientation. Wrapping the secondary coil with the primary winding was the most difficult part, make sure you follow the directions (1.5 turns towards the bottom of the secondary coil with ~1.5mm air gap) and trim excess wire before you solder.I am running with a 24V 4A supply and things work fine. Note that the transistors run HOT!!!!, at least at this input voltage. I used heak sink compound between the transistors and heat sink and even then I would only run this for a few minutes as the heak sinks become hot enough to burn you and I believe the parts will fry themselves if run for much longer. My son was excited that it worked and it took 5x the time to assemble and probably provided 10x the education of a similarly priced Lego set so I'm giving this one a thumbs up.

English instructions would be nice
Upon opening the package I noticed the instructions were not in English but what appears to be Chinese. Very disappointed. Won’t be purchasing this again. We shall see it it actually works. If the functions is as bad as the instructions then not going to be a good experience

Good Kit; English instructions a bit unclear
Good: Great little kit for practicing Through-hole soldering. Components were all present, and in working order. The PCB had a nice print making it easy to see where components go.Could improve: The printed instructions were mostly just text, but if you follow the QR code, the online instructions had pictures. They started clear, but kind of fizzled when it got to installing the coil and the wire loop.Nice to have: Instructions for what the mini tesla coil could/should do when it is working properly. It would have also been cool to have a bit of information on what the components do/ how they make the tesla coil work.

Not exactly the same kit as advertised but still works
The pieces in this kit don't perfectly match what's described in the advertisement: my kit was missing the 2P pin header and double-sided tape, but I had extra parts from past builds to substitute; actual PCB was different from what is pictured on the site. This can make the instructions a bit difficult to follow, but the finished product works beautifully. The coil lights a small neon bulb and throws a bright spark, and the audio is a great addition. (My students and I also discovered that you can burn paper by placing graphite behind paper and attracting the spark. Fun for everyone.) All in all, a great project to end the circuits unit in my 9th/10th grade physics class. Will buy again for future classes.

the instructions, components, pictures and circuit board don’t match.
The first one (project and kit) I received was missing parts and i couldn’t make it work. After requesting a replacement, it was still more difficult when the instructions, the components, the pictures and the circuit board did not match up or align. I found a better picture and modified the instructions to read more clearly. It’s a cool project, but should come with better instructions. Note to purchasers: the header (jumper and two pins) are not supplied in the package and kit (and are not required to complete and function properly). Additionally, the two sets of two resistors are not the values listed in the instructions or on the circuit diagram. The values are .5K ohms which replaces the 2K ohms resistor in the circuit; and the supplied 2K ohm resistor replaces the 10K ohm resister (not supplied) on the circuit board. Take your time and good luck..

Worked as it should
Followed the directions and referred to the pictures. Took about an hour to solder. Powered it with 24v and it worked as it should. The little arc is cute but does burn what touches it. First thing I caught on fire was a tissue. Great little project for learning about electricity. Thank you Nico

Couldn't get it working. -Before heatsink-
**2 Stars**Not because it didn't work, my wiring may be wrong, but because the packaging was terrible. Some parts are delicate and could easily be damaged during shipping. So, mine came in a single plastic bag with all the parts loose inside. Bad form...I laid everything out in order/by type. Mine did not come with any installation instructions and the link on the provided parts list was dead. I found instructions for other brands and pictures of this one online. Using those and the PCB labels, I did my best to assemble. When I plug the device in I get power to LED1, nothing on LED2 and nothing from the coil. After messing around and failing to fix it, with the device unplugged, I tried some CPU paste on the heatsinks because I forgot to do that. I put a small amount of Conductonaut on one heatsink, then I had to leave.Check out what happened to that one. It's literally turned to dust. LOLI haven't made this mistake since I was a teenager.-Use my review to form your own opinion, not a reason to not buy right away.-

Unclear instructions and resistors not marked
Resistors not indicative of any color code they're supposed to be on the print. Wire for coil is too short to wrap 2-3 times as instructed. Doesn't include a power supply. All mine does when I finished it is make the second LED light up. Part J3 on the PCB is either just an additional piece or outright not included. I'm not the only one to have noted this as well.

Kit de bobina Tesla ármelo usted mismo
The media could not be loaded.

Gracias!
