MadLab MLP105 Electronic Kit, Junior Theremin

This product works soooo good but sadly it didnt work this time amd was smoking so fast idk y i used a 9v battery and poof !

I bought this to make a DIY Rem pod for my kid who is into ghost hunting. I have plenty of experience soldering, building electronics, etc. I assembled it and the regulator gets so hot it feels like it's going to melt the board. I get no sound, I get no lights.... the entire thing is dead! Many other reviews mention the lack of quality with the parts. I even disassembled the entire thing and reassembled it and it just doesn't do anything at all except get unbearably hot. Don't waste your 20 bucks

The media could not be loaded. Junior Theremin kits are great to make an inexpensive rempod. I used my 3d printer to make the top and bottom plates for the rempod. I added a second switch to turn the sound off while I'm do an EVP session, the lights will still work, but with no sound. The second switch gives me the choice if I want sound or not. The body of the rempod is just a 4 inch pvc pipe bought at a hardware store. I sanded the pvc pipe with 600 grit sand paper and then washed and dried it before spray painting it so the paint would stick to the pvc pipe better. I went from the short antenna as seen in the one photo to a much taller antenna that is on the rempod to improve the range of the rempod. The taller antenna improved the range of the rempod a lot. The trick to making this kit work is the soldering. Even if you use solder that has flux in it, use a small brush and put a little extra flux on the joint you are going to solder. Then put the solder by the joint you are going to solder and then bring the soldering iron to the joint to be soldered and solder fast and get the soldering iron away from the board and the component you are soldering. Heat from the soldering iron can damage the board and the component you are soldering and wreck your project. I also recommend using solid core wire in the board to extend things like the lights and the buttons to make soldering on the board more easy. Have fun building your own rempod and happy ghost hunting.

I am no stranger in electronics and this kit is all wrong, the 7805 is way to small so gets extremely hot, should be the next 7805 up from this, also the caps are under rated so also get warmer than they should, I built this as it should be yet it has a mind of its own when applying 9v, just goes nuts, no response from the antenna as the led's and buzzer just do not stop, so I returned it, built yes, junk yes so still returned. the second board I ordered works great but I swapped out the silly wire antenna for a telescopic one, found a 5 pack from Amazon for a great price, made so much difference, one thing to note is that if you power this board up near any electronics, wires etc then it will go nuts, move it away and it should work as intended, used mine in a rem pod project and thing is ideal for that. the only draw back is that if using as a rem pod you need to wave you hand by it to set it off within 5 min as it has a standby timer.

I had no real issues with it. They can be hard to find because we paranormal investigators are scarfing them up to build REM-POD's. I'm mean, why pay $189.70 on the internet when for less than $35 you can make one. From my understanding, the these exact kits are used by the paranormal companies who make the ones on the internet.I'm not sure how they'd be as a toy- pretty boring in my opinion. But if your little mad scientist is looking to learn to make kits with soldering, it's pretty easy. Heck, maybe they'll grow up chasing ghosts... 👻 🤷‍♂️ 😏If your building a REM-POD, you'd be better off with a small speaker instead of the one included. This goes for the antenna too. You'll need a scoping antenna with a male 3.5 jack, a 3.5 female to female connector, a single 3.5 jack with attached bare ended wire, hit glue gun, solder and soldering gun, a plastic 4"x 3" x 2" project box, plastic battery holder and I recommend a pack of different colored led's. Mine came with four blue. These are all pretty cheap on Amazon. Oh, a drill with small bits, too.Just fyi- I don't make these REM-POD's to sell. I use them on investigations and as gifts to other paranormal investigators. Have fun, and save $$$!*UPDATED 06 MAY 21*I've received these kits before missing teams. Please! Open your kit as soon as possible (over something to catch the items if they're accidentally dropped) and count/match the stuff. Since I build paranormal equipment sometimes weekly, I went on Amazon and ordered a kit with extra resistors/capacitors/diodes/IC's just incase some car up short. We built a REM pod with this! So extremely easy to build with! Will be buying again!

There were a lot of reviews that indicated this didn't work well or at all. I have soldering experience and have assembled many electronic devices. I had no problem. All the parts were there, but they are small and you have to keep track of them. Some of the parts also have polarity and must be installed in the correct orientation. It was not that difficult if you have some experience and worked as advertised. Great toy for the price.

Defective parts.They got my money now it's too bad for me...SOL and the $ belongs to them now and I have junk my grandchildren will not be able to learn with this kit!!!!
