I've never crimped networking cables before, but am wiring new jacks through a shed/office conversion. I couldn't justify spending money on the big name tools, for something that might only be a short term need. I opted for the pass-thru style, and I will say that it made it a very simple job. The cutter works completely and cleanly, as does the strip function, tested on both Cat6 cable for inside, and a direct burial Cat5e cable as a test. It has a small push pin lock to keep the tool compact when in it's case or a pocket, but very easy to release to use.The only issue I have is that the unit I received doesn't have the wire diagram on the tool as the image shows, it was just a small unlabeled diagram in a tiny instruction leaflet. I did find the included plugs were a tiny bit snug for solid copper 23g Cat6 but still worked fine, and the cutoff worked cleanly as well. All in all, a great little tool that does the job I asked it to, and affordable to do so.

So I used it to prep two ends of a CAT6 cable I pulled from house to garage. Worked as it should made solid connections each end. The tool is very compact which is a plus for storing or carrying but it was a bit awkward to hold and use. For me it is fine just occasional use but daily I'd go for something else.

As a graduate with a network technology degree, this is well made and will last many years. Buy with confidence.

Have been using this tool for more than a year. I bought this tool for home improvement projects and I have terminated ~50 cables. The tool works well and does the job. The case is sturdy and convenient for storing the tool, connectors, and handy pinout diagram.

Works great for stripping CAT6 cable, but not so good for CAT5e which is a little smaller diameter.

I prefer the pass-through "ez-RJ45" style connectors which allow excess wire to pass through the end of the jack to be color-checked and allow for some forgiveness in wire trim length (which in turn allows that little bit of extra stripped wire, to pinch between your fingers and hold the sorted bundle flat). This crimper has cable cutter, jacket stripper, a small ridged comb to straighten the twisted wires, a reference chart for pair order, a crimper, and a trimmer for the ez-RJ45 wire excess all in one tool.The one mild complaint I had is that the color reference sticker has pin 1 and pin 8 oriented opposite of how the jack sits in the crimper while in use. If the two orientations agreed, it would be even better reference to the question of "wires in this order, but does the jack go on clip-up or clip-down?" Very small wishlist, over all quite satisfied with several cables made.

I bought this to attach connectors to the ends of all the cat6 cables that were wired to multiple floors of a home. The process was easier with these pass through connectors than when I had to do this 20 years ago for the first time where you had to get everything just right for the cable to work. There are enough connectors included in case you mess up and I did have one cable fail a test only because I did not crimp it quickly with enough force. The build quality on this tool is amazing, it feels solidly constructed. The only thing I have to complain about is the wire stripper. I ended up using my own wire stripper as the one that's on this tool is setup for one specific diameter and cannot be adjusted, only replaced. Overall great product and it comes with a nice case to keep the tools and connectors
